Welcome to Slow Living! Nested in a unique village in the hills where time stands still, trees are old, people are kind, and animals playful, our property will bring a quiet respite to your travels. Lovely village walks will show you traditional architecture, old gates and splendid views. A short walk will take you either up the mountain to a Mediterranean pine tree forest, to spot deer, or foxes, either to the wild flower fields where you can see storks, kingfishers and many other birds. Our cottage was built in 1926, using natural materials, in the traditional way of the area. The rooms are tall and spacious. The proximity of the church, the unpaved streets, the bells of the cows, give it a medieval feel, that takes you out of the fast rhythm of the city and introduces you to slow living, a more mindful way of being. We restored the house carefully, and brought the comfortable to the traditional, still respecting the old ways: we built a clay oven and barbecue, we reused old roof tiles to make floor tiles, and many other tings that we invite you to discover. We hope you will feel at home in our cottage, so we equipped our kitchen with all you need for cooking your meals: pots, pans, baking trays, plates, cups, and cutlery. We have a blender, food processor, and toaster. Tea and tea kettles are provided, as well an electric kettle. Coffee and an italian espresso machine. Biscuits and homemade jam, fruit sirrup and compot. We provide oil, salt, sugar, pepper and many spices for your meals. We provide a bottle of home-made tuica, our traditional alcohol. We have a fully equipped barbecue with tools and wood.

The life of the Dobolean is an outdoor life, so we created many outdoor spaces for you to enjoy: an outdoor kitchen, an outdoor terrace, a comfy swing, a fire pit. In the vast green area of our back yard we built a generous pergola, where we love to do yoga, meditate, or just relax listening to the sound of the birds or watch the sunset. I, Diana, your host, do not live in Dobolii de Sus, and we'll use the phone as a way of communicating. The day before your arrival you will receive the house manual with the self check-in instructions, and at the time of your check in you will receive the key safe code. Please inquire is early check in is possible before arriving early to the property, as we might not be able to check you in, as we have to clean after the guests that checked out that day. We do have exterior cameras to keep our property safe, and we disarm them the moment of your check in, to ensure your privacy. You are free to cover or unplug them if this is something that matters to you. Just remember to uncover them or plug them back in before you go.

The Reci and Moacsa lake are at a 15 minutes drive from our place, and they're lovely for swimming in the summer. The Reci Birch Forest is a wonderful walk where you can relax for hours. There are old manors and castles that you can visit within a 30 minute drive, as well as wonderful rural museums. There are wild life sanctuaries, lovely mountain hikes, waterfalls and natural springs within one hour drives.
