Ban Narai River Guesthouse is a wooden row house by the Ping River, built in 1978. We grew up in this house — watching the rainy seasons flow by, year after year. One day, we decided to turn this old home into a small guesthouse, while keeping the same warmth and simplicity from the past alive in every corner. Each room at Ban Narai has a river view, soft morning sunlight, and cool evening breeze. You’ll find trees, the occasional bark from our little dogs, and delicious homemade pizza from our wood-fired oven in the evenings. Ban Narai is perfect for those who want to spend their days slowly and simply, close to the river. If you’re looking for a peaceful riverside stay in the heart of Chiang Mai — a place that feels more like visiting a friend’s home than staying in a hotel — we’d be happy to welcome you here at Ban Narai.
I used to work full-time in the magazine industry, but one day I decided to leave it all behind and return to a simpler life at my family’s old wooden house by the Ping River. That’s how Ban Narai was born — a small guesthouse named after my grandfather’s surname. We take care of this place ourselves every day, living here with three little dogs and one black cat. We love sharing hidden spots and local tips with guests who come to explore Chiang Mai. If you’re looking for a small, simple place to stay — peaceful and personal, like visiting a friend in Chiang Mai — Ban Narai might just be the right place for you.
We are situated between Nawarat Bridge and Iron Bridge, along the famous Ping River. Ban Narai River Guesthouse is a place where you instantly feel at home. Step out the front door and explore the Night Bazaar, Warorot Market, and charming boutiques, galleries, antique shops, street food stalls, hawker centers, and restaurants. Then, return 'home' to relax and unwind in our peaceful retreat.
