Property information

The 1860 "National Register of Historic Places" manor house sits on 20 acres, one mile from Washington College and the charming arts and entertainment center of Chestertown, Maryland. Brampton is known for its creative cottage garden where many of the fruits and vegetables are grown for the inn's kitchen. The manor house has 5 guest rooms and two suites. Many of the original outbuildings have been renovated and are housing luxurious guest accommodations. We offer an a-la-carte breakfast and afternoon refreshments with daily changing options. The inn is open all year. Brampton Inn Does Not allow children.

Neighbourhood information

Chestertown is the most beautiful 18th century colonial port on Maryland's Eastern Shore. It is the home of Washington College ca. 1782, the only school George Washington gave his name to, and sits on the banks of the Chester River. The historic arts and entertainment district is less than a mile from the inn. Small shops and wonderful restaurants can be found close to Fountain Park. We highly recommend the Kitchen at the Imperial. The farmer's market is at the park every Saturday from 8 till noon. The Garfield Center for the Arts regularly offers live performances and concerts. Chestertown is the home port of the Sultana, the replica of an 18th century merchant ship.
