We moved to Alaska from Texas in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the community, scenery, and slower pace of life here in Big Lake. What began as a dream to create a cozy place for family and friends turned into something truly special — the Cozy Cub Cabin & Soakin’ Salmon Spa. My husband, our neighbor Dave, and I built both the cabin and the spa house by hand, putting care into every board, beam, and finishing touch. We wanted to create a space that felt warm, inviting, and uniquely Alaskan — where guests could relax, recharge, and make lasting memories.
