Beaches Long white sandy beaches are perfect for walks, sunbathing, shell-collecting, or enjoying sunsets. The calm, scenic setting is part of St Helena's charm. Birdwatching Over 200 species of birds frequent the area, especially along the rocky coast and in the reserve. Shorebirds, seabirds, etc. Wildflower Season / Flora From late winter to spring (around August-September), the region (especially the Cape Columbine Reserve & surroundings) bursts into colour with wildflowers. Great for photography and nature strolls. Marine Wildlife (Whales, Dolphins, Seals, Penguins) Whale watching is possible from shore (best during certain seasons), plus spotting dolphins and seals. Kayaking / Snorkeling / Free Diving The waters around the rocky shores offer good spots for snorkeling and free diving. You can also kayak along the coast.
