Marc is an accomplished interior and exterior architect with a strong foundation in industrial design. A passionate world traveler, his creative journey has taken him across the globe, shaping his distinctive aesthetic. His partner Jan originally studied landscape architecture, but followed his artistic calling into a successful acting career. Years later, blending creativity with hospitality, Marc and Jan breathed new life into an old Belgian farm, transforming it into a thriving Bed and Breakfast. Marc did the restoration, while Jan became the heart of the hosting experience. Their shared love for travel eventually brought them to South Africa, where they fell in love with the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. That journey led them to Barrydale, a charming village nestled in the Karoo of the Western Cape. Here inspired by nature, design and authentic connection, they founded AARDE- a unique space where creativity, tranquility, and global inspiration come together.
