Hilda is an artist with a broad artistic genre. Has a passion for Art , interior decorating and gardening. She has been on the local radio station promoting and teaching art and has had numerous art students.She totally adores people and treats all guests uniquely and homely. .

Twenty minutes from Papendorp and Strandfontein lies picturesque Lutzville, where you’ll find an art-infused guesthouse/self-catering establishment at 22 Kristal Close. Artist Hilda Vermeulen has brush-stroked the entire Art Guest Accommodation with her quirky, bold and bright style. Some of the furnishings were hand-made by her late husband At and son Evin, while Hilda added the finishing touches. Seven fully-serviced and –equipped double and single en-suite rooms with private entrances are individually decorated in Hilda’s inimitable style. Three of the rooms are suitable for self-catering requirements. Depending on weather, delicious breakfasts are served either inside or in the lapa. If you choose, you can spend the break without lifting a finger in the kitchen, because the coffee shop on the premises offers light meals, heavenly sweet treats and beverages. Guests also have access to the lounge areas and a peaceful garden.

Lutzville is a picturesque little town in the Olifants River valley, centrally situated in the world famous Namaqualand flowering area halfway between Cape Town and the Namibia border from both the N7 Highway and the famous R27 : R362 West Coast road travelling north.. There’s much to do: take a wine cruise to nearby Cape Rock Wines, Lutzville Vineyards or Seal Breeze Winery; spend a beach day at Strandfontein, shop for hand-embroidered linen in Papendorp, and for beer lovers the Maskam Beer Brewing company for the ultimate beer tasting experience. For the energetic there is canoeing , cycling and a walking trail in the Olifants River estuary or for more serious walkers the Tobie Swart trail from Koekenaap. Or relax with a round of golf on our golf course where Art Guest House guests have the benefit of playing at club rates !!
