GreenHouse is BoKaap's most photographed house and even features in KLM advertisements. Situated in the former slave quarter, it offers an unique blend of color, culture, and Islamic history. The neighborhood feels warm and intimate, with the traditional call to prayer recited five times a day creating a special atmosphere. In the evening, you can enjoy the balmy air and stunning views of Table Mountain while the neighbourhood kids enjoy ball games on the street. The apartment is decorated with unique pieces of art that reflect wildlife in Africa. The art is locally sourced and contributes to economic development and financial stability. Across the street you will find three local art shops with an interesting offering.
This is actually a second time round hosting the GreenHouse in BoKaap! I love meeting (even shortly) guests from all walks and different places of life. I love welcoming guests to experience the beauty, culture and energy of Cape Town. I’m happy to share local tips, neighbourhood favourites and help you make the most of your visit. You’re staying in one of Cape Town’s most historic and culturally rich areas. Everything is close: • 5–7 min walk to Bree Street with famous eateries • 10 min walk to the City Centre with bookshops, antiques and curiosa • 5–10 min Uber to V&A Waterfront • Cafés, Cape Malay cuisine, and local craft shops around the corner The area is safe, lively, colourful and full of character. Parking is free and available right on the street in front of the apartment. Bo-Kaap is a residential area, so parking is generally easy and safe.
