Situated on the beautiful slopes of the Langeberg Mountains, just two hours away from Cape Town, this charming estate is the ideal destination for a relaxing get-away. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, 3 km away from the town of Montagu, both tranquillity and comfort are in abundance here at Galenia Estate. Nature lovers will enjoy hours of undisturbed walking here. The hotel is pleasantly situated on the scenic route 62, between Montagu and Barrydale. All the rooms have private patios with superb views, heated bathrooms, outdoor showers and fireplaces for romantic winter stays.

Privacy and exclusivity - Galenia – named for the Galenia Africana species of ‘fynbos’ to be found on the estate - is a ten suite ‘Estate Guest House’ designed to welcome visitors who appreciate being close to the beauty of nature and to enjoy this spectacular and unique botanically diverse region of the Western Cape. The 1300 acre (550hectare) estate, nestled under the magnificent Langeberg Mountain range, is just 3kms from the picturesque town of Montagu, on the R62 ‘alternative Garden Route’.
Fine hospitality - The main Guest House was originally a Cape Dutch barn now converted into a comfortable and spacious sitting room with a glass enclosed dining verandah enjoying some of the finest views over the main lake and the Klein Karoo. Substantial breakfasts and candlelight dinners emphasise the produce of the local farms and vineyards as well as the Galenia Estate itself.
Peace and tranquillity - Far flung horizons, stunning scenery, Galenia really is one of the finest private estates. Set well way from the sights and sounds of today’s busy life Galenia is the perfect place to relax and recharge . For the active there are eight trails set out on the estate - for trekking, jogging, mountain biking or strolling - five lakes for birdwatching, a grove of one thousand olive trees, a swimming pool and even an outdoor Jacuzzi. Strategically located at the entrance to the Klein Karoo, close to the Breede River and the Robertson wine valley, Galenia is the ideal home-base for exploring the surrounding area and tasting the local food and wines.
