Little Oak Cottage sits on the Three Oaks smallholding in the Cape’s oldest West Coast town of Hopefield. It is owned and run by Elaine of EOS Getaway Experiences. It is a 1-bedroom, fully furnished, stand alone self-catering cottage. The bedroom has a double bed with en-suite shower and the living area has an open plan lounge/kitchen. I am passionate about human endeavour and the capacity we have to transcend obstacles blocking our progression.    In the 6 years leading up to 2014 I studied psychology as a part-time student whilst working in the commercial sector as a project and business consultant; and as an advisor and coach in both commercial and private sector.  I completed my studies at the end of 2013, having done my field work in the area of addiction counselling, and received The Academic Dean’s Merit Award for “Achievement of the Highest Academic Standard”. All of the above experiences afforded me the opportunity of doing that which I enjoy most – empowering people to self-actualise. In June 2021 I bought this beautiful property in Hopefield where I hope to incrementally build a retreat (Little Oak Cottage being the 1st venue) for people to get away and rebuild themselves. So come and stay just for the accommodation or book a counselling session to help you navigate your way back into a clearer life path.

The property is a 5 minute walk to the center of this heritage town where you can relax at one of the local eateries or explore the Hopefield museum. Known for its honey, the Cape Honey bees are attracted to the more than 500 different species of fynbos in the area. Learn more at the local Simply Bee Observation Centre. Just outside Hopefield is the eclectic Plaasmol Padstal - A wonderful tongue-in-the-cheek eatery, farmstall, nursery, petting zoo and pub. They are passionate about recycling, upcycling and caring for the environment. A little further is Wacky Adventures if you need to beat the summer heat in their pools and various slides. They also have quad biking for some extra fun and excitement. Closer to Langebaan is the West Coast Fossil Park with exceptionally well-preserved remains of fossil fauna dating back almost 5.2 million years ago. Skip over from there to Langebaan’s Shark Bay for a glorious swim in the ocean or enjoy a seafood meal at Pearly’s restaurant across from the main beach. Hopefield is ±30km’s from Langebaan, 40km’s from Saldanha, 45km’s from Velddrif and 50km’s from Paternoster, making it a great launch pad for your journey.
