Situated at the foot of the Steenbras Mountain and overlooking the blue waters of False Bay, lies the historical Manor on the Bay. It was built in 1862 and later served as the Summer residence for Sir Alfred Beit family, from Ireland. Manor on the Bay has spectacular sunset views over the Ocean and Table Mountain. Enjoy our Sunset lounge with panoramic views over False Bay or watch the whales in season or the dolphins passing you by. Manor on the Bay promises to be an idyllic location to rejuvenate oneself, away from the stresses of modern living.

Manor on the Bay Guesthouse is only 20 paces from the beach, where conditions for swimming and sunbathing are perfect. A walking trail under a canopy of Milkwood trees leads to a variety of quality restaurants, bars and a unique bookshop. Gordon’s Bay is a hidden jewel in a very safe environment. Cape Town, the Waterfront and Cape Town International airport are only 35 minutes from our Manor. Following the Whale Route and its breath-taking coastline will get you to Hermanus in 45 minutes. Clarence drive is often rated as one of the top 10 scenic roads in the world. Manor on the Bay is the gateway to the Garden Route and the perfect stay-over coming from Cape Town or the airport. Situated only 29 km to Stellenbosch, 45 from Paarl and Franschhoek, our most respected wine producing areas. Top rated vineyards Vergelegen and Lourensford and Erinvale Golf course are located less that 20 minutes from the Manor.
