Both Protea & Pincushion Cottages are located in a large leafy garden in the quiet residential suburb of Voëlklip. By the way, did you know that Voëlklip is one of the few areas with 4 beaches in very close proximity including BLUE FLAG Grotto Beach with a wonderful long sandy shore for walking and soaking-up the sun. Our cottages are beautifully decorated, with comfy beds and fine linen and feels like a mini-resort. Sam, our housekeeper places large parasol umbrellas on the decks daily with loungers so that our guests can relax around the swimming pool. Absolutely everyone who stays loves it, and we go out of our way to make you feel at home - whether you need a recommendation for dinner, a hairdresser or need us to pack a picnic basket for you, we will help. We are locals and know all the fabulous hang-outs, so just ask :)
Hi my name is Eunicé - pronounced "Unisi". I speak both English and Afrikaans and a couple of words of Arabic! I love people and hosting and always make my guests feel spoilt with little local treats and information about Hermanus which we leave for you to enjoy! I am passionate about dancing and cooking, and if you want I will prepare something special for you. I work closely with Sam, our excellent Housekeeper who is always available to help you.
Voëlklip is a quiet, safe residential neighborhood with plenty to do, from walking on the beaches, hiking up the mountain or chilling at the local Bistros and beach bars. It is also close to town - 7 minutes, has two small superettes, and a gas station.
