Spekboom Cottage is at the top of a private road off Calitz Street and is the last of a row of quaint country cottages. This house was built in 1910 and was always a modest home on what was called the Rooirant. It is built in the adobe style with unbaked clay brick making the living area cool in Summer and warm in Winter. It is rustic and is the most unchanged cottage in the road. It is featured in "Calitzdorp Cameos" by Malan Roux. The owner is committed to keeping its rural charm. Surrounded by farmland, the cottage really is in the country and there are lovely walks or cycling routes to do from here and yet the cottage is only 400m from the closest restaurant and pub. There are pets on the premises.
I love the Klein Karoo and gardening and have built a wild water friendly space with lots of shade for our blazing summers. I have experience in hospitality and property sales and was drawn to Rand Street because of the beauty of this special road. I want to share the joy of living simply.
Rand Street is one of the most popular areas in Calitzdorp with quaint Nagmaal cottages and is surrounded by Withoek farm. The neighbourhood is quiet and is popular with dog owners. There are good walks all around us.
