We like to think we have the best of both worlds here at Yellowwoods! The benefits of farm life, yet easy access to cafes, restaurants, bicycle trails, farmers markets, golf courses and schools. Only 2kms off the N3, we are easily accessible and very easy to find. All of our cottages are self-catering and have full DSTV, WiFi, braai faciities, patio/garden and full kitchen (Willoughby’s Cottage - 2bedrooms/2 bathrooms) or kitchenettes in our three one-bedrooms (Capel Ogwen,The Goat House and Pool Cottage. The original farmhouse date back to 1896. It was built by Willoughby Methley for his young bride, Elizabeth (Elsie) Symons. They brought up five chidren here on the farm and made a name for themselves growing the early ripening Methley Plum. These plums were at one time sent as far afield as Covent Garden in London to be sold.

We moved to South Africa and the Natal Midlands from London 14 years ago. It has been a wonderful family journey on so many different levels. The children are able to have an uncomplicated outdoor childhood, the schools have been incredible and we are able to explore and experience this beautiful countryside every day. We Sarah and I are generally always around should there be anyhing that you need to know, so please ask away. We have four different cottages here at Yellowwoods so we are usually able to accommodate most requests. We occasionally rent out the main farmhouse. We do have five dogs who are very much A part of the family. Three labradors (Tuppence, Morata and Oscar), as well as a much-loved corgi (Gigi) and a very naughty border terrier (Pip). They are very friendly and love to visit guests, however if they do become annoying please let us know!

The Natal Midlands is rich with water and the landscape is reminiscent of England with pastures, valleys, hills and forests. The foothills and mountains of the Drakensberg are nearby and there are endless mountain bike trails to chose from. Boschhoek Golf Course is 1.5kms down the road and Gowrie Golf Club is 10 minutes away. Fishing is available on various dams through Wildfly in Nottingham Road.
