This was our favourite place we stayed in Minas Gerais, and it is because of the brilliant owners and their team. Simply the friendliest and most helpful place we have been in Brazil, with tips on where to go and what to see, an amazing breakfast, beautifully presented, with an option to be served in a stand alone conservatory area or in your room, and an ideal location just outside of Ouro Preto but easy to get into town when you want to. Our children were so looked after and happy, could not ask for more. We'll be back!

There are two pousadas -- Do Douro and Pousada do Mondego, we booked both, but they are 2 parts of an antique complex, and we were staying in room 104 which has 5 balconies in 2 different directions! The breakfast is awesome, the huge antique table is full of cakes, fruits, juices, jams, and homemade yogurts (without sugar!) and the terrace (covered and partly uncovered) has a stunning view of the city and the churches. The Pousada has a vast private parking lot. We had a problem with a rented car, and all the greatly effective 3 languages speaking manager Kicila helped us to resolve it, to meet winch car, and to communicate with the rent-a-car company. Manager Claudia helped us to find important contacts inside of Ouro Preto on January 1st 7 am! They all were super effective. Next time we come to Ouro Preto we definitely stay here.

Nice view and pool. Cleanliness is good. Breakfast is good. The bed was comfortable and the shower is nice and hot. It is a bit outside the city, which worked well for us, because we left the car there and got a taxi/PamPam (the local Uber) for R$15-20 every time we needed to go to the tourist centre of town and didn't need to navigate the narrow and busy streets ourselves by car.
