The fire alarm went on at night as someone smashed the button. The owner came after some time, (a long time, but it was our fault as there was an emergency number in the binder in every room but we didn't notice, and kept calling a closed a bar :D ), he apologised, fixed the problem and stayed until dawn in case the unruly couple came back. Our room had great big windows and a lovely view. The owner also let us leave our bags earlier than check in time with no extra charge.

We booked one of the suites in the courtyard, it was lovely, real comfy large bed, everything you needed in the apartment, and a lovely little patio area too. All the staff and owners are really lovely, courteous, friendly and can't do enough for you. Nice quiet area even beside the pub. We will definitely be back!!

Staff were helpful and friendly. The room and bed were so comfortable. It was clean, warm, beautifully decorated. I would recommend Cross Pipes Tavern to anyone.

Beautiful location, comfortable mini-apartment with bedroom, bathroom and upstairs sitting room. The Windmill served exceptional food (the pie was to die for!) and the staff were warm and friendly. We'd come to visit the Emmerdale experience and it was about 20mins drive which was brilliant for us. A short hop from Leeds, Harrogate and York,
