Colin and his staff were exceptional, very polite and went above and beyond for me, the food was absolutely amazing with steak cooked to perfection and the room was immaculate. I stayed here for 2 nights on business and I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. For anyone visiting Llantrisant I would highly recommend staying here at The Bear Inn. This place was perfect and beats anywhere I have stayed at before and is so much nicer than your standard hotel. My only upset was that I didn't get to spend longer than 2 days here but I will definitely be returning in the new year.

The Ancient Briton was one of the best B&Bs we stayed at during our 2.5-week trip through the UK. The staff, rooms, food, and overall atmosphere exceeded our expectations. The building is old but tastefully refurbished. While some stairways are narrow and dim (a bit of a challenge with luggage), the rooms were comfortable, well-equipped, and even featured unique plaster ceiling designs that gave them real character. The staff was outstanding. The woman who managed breakfast each morning (I wish I remembered her name) was especially wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of local tips. Thanks to her, we discovered the Red Kite Feeding Station in Llanddeusant, which turned out to be a highlight of our trip. The pub downstairs is lively and welcoming, with excellent food and a friendly mix of locals. It does get busy in the evenings, but even as a party of six, we were always accommodated.
