Very close to the train station. Kei, the man who greeted me, was very nice, and speaks excellent English. He also explained the history of the shrine to me. This is a great affordable option near Kochi, and it is easy to take the train in.

Everything was peak perfect. Check-in was smooth as butter. The moment I arrived and messaged the host through the app, someone came over right away to guide me in. This is just peak for a hostal. The room is also top notch. The bed is super comfy, pillows are big and soft, and there’s a power outlet placed right next to the bed. There’s even a large folding curtain door separating the bedroom from the living room area, which is great for blocking out light. Now the bathroom setup, its absolutely perfect. They actually placed a stack of drawers outside the bathroom so you can put your clothes there without worrying about them getting wet, this is just unheard of in Japan, at least for me. And there’s a curtain covering the bathroom entrance so you can change comfortably. This seems like a no big deal, but you will appreciate it once you have used it.

The host was amazing. New guests thought the big red button that said ‘fire’ was the doorbell and he immediately came to help and said he’ll hang a note so it won’t happen again. The room itself was so so nice. Clean bathroom, comfortable beds and a washing machine. 10/10 recommend.

This was my second stay. Cycle & Stay stored my bag and a bike box while toured. They also took calls/messages from shipping company and bike rental when I was coordinating the bike return. Super helpful! Thank so much. Staff were genuine, great communicators and fun loving. Cycling Shikoku? This is the place to stay in Tokushima.
