Our stay at this incredible Japanese house was nothing short of a dream. This beautifully renovated traditional home, built by the owner's ancestors probably 150 years ago and renovated thoughtfully and lovingly by the owner recently. It offers lovely gardens and breathtaking views of Mount Aso and is meticulously maintained to the highest standards. Each room exudes the charm and character of a traditional Japanese palace, while also providing all modern amenities.The onsen is an indulgent treat, and the professional kitchen, sound and home cinema systems, barbecue house, and karaoke house added to the exceptional experience. We opted for the barbecue on two of our three nights, and the food was world-class, prepared with love and care by the owner, his wife, and the property manager.We felt like we were in a dream and wished we could have stayed much longer. We travelled to Kurokawa onsen Mori No Ki Ki by driving from Kumamoto, it took us about 2 hr. The staff (or the owner) was so kind and willing to facilitate and keen to support us nicely. We were so much impressed and appreciated. The house was so clean, the onsen was good. Home made bread was excellent. We suggest the visitor should come before the evening as to see the sign clearly. The sign showing the accommodation name a bit small comparing to the others, so you may miss when it is dark. The rest are excellent, if you like peace and relax with warm heart, you may like this one.

The location was really good. The owner gave me a lot of advisement. I like the wooden house, dinner (Denraku) and sightseeing spots around there. One day’s staying was very short. I will go back someday.

Amazing place in the heart of the nature in Japan. The drive up the mountains to reach the accommodation is a absolutely stunning. Great value for money and we really loved all of the different on-site onsens that we tried. This was a highlight of our trip in Japan and well worth a detour to spend a few days in this amazing area.
