The stay is actually the upper-level + back room behind a gorgeous cafe/restaurant within a machiya (traditional townhouse); so you get the whole accomodation to yourself! Beautiful traditional details including tatami mats, screen doors & a tranquil inner garden; paired with modern comforts — gorgeous bathroom and bed. The hoast was incredible, giving great restaurant recommendations & serving the most delicious breakfasts every morning. We loved this stay and will certainly be back.

We loved our stay at Ryokan Yamamuro. Bungo-san and his mother were excellent hosts. The room had lots of space, and all the extras (tea, hot water, robes, etc.) made us feel right at home. The location was perfect to explore the wonderful city of Kanazawa. We would highly recommend anyone visiting Kanazawa to stay at Bungo-san's Ryokan.

Everything was perfect: the place was spotless, modern, and felt brand new. The kitchen was fully equipped, and having both a washing machine and dryer was a big plus. The rooms were cozy and spacious. Parking right in front of the door was very convenient. We received a warm welcome and excellent support throughout our stay through our great host.

The pictures in Booking doesn’t even make justice. It is decorated with a lot of taste. It is super clean and comfortable. And it has a small table outside which is very rare thing in japan.
