This was a shot in the dark booking since I couldn’t find a place near the beach that was tattoo friendly. We were blown away at the facility, amenities and overall beauty of the location. I booked 3 rooms. Everyone had their own private onsen bath. My husband and I upgraded to the sauna barrel room and we LOVED IT. The guys all did sauna in the morning. They even give you handmade authentic sauna hats. Breakfast was simple but filling. Half of the group did the Japanese style, half did American. My jumbo toast made me feel like I was in a Ghibli movie having breakfast. There is a vending machine in the breakfast area was a variety of snacks and drinks. Our van made it on the roads to the property. So a standard vehicle will have no issue. Beautiful creak flowing in the backyard of every room. Every room has an entrance, toilet & sink room, living room (doubles as bedroom bc you have tatami beds), vanity sink & rack, THEN sliding door to your shower & bath, THEN sliding door to your porch with seating. Our room had the barrel immediately to the left of the porch with ANOTHER outdoor tub. Price was excellent!!

I came to Japan to practice speaking the Japanese I’ve learned, so I was constantly looking for conversation opportunities. I found the staff talkative and kind despite my limited Japanese. They taught me some phrases and shared their advice to have fun in Shimoda. This makes it great for solo travelers. Furthermore, the place was very comfortable and clean, and the amenities were enjoyable, especially the bike rental.

There is a train station next to the property, a Lawson convenience store one block away, and several trendy clothing stores around the corner. You can easily walk north to the buzzy Nishiki area and Oasis 21/museums, and southwest to the Osu Shotengai Shopping Street. One evening I made a reservation for the hotel’s warm pool, steam room, onsen, and sauna. It was extremely relaxing and the facilities were fantastic. They even have swim suits to borrow for free. The hotel room itself was very impressive, including a nice view of the city with floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom is spacious and featured heated floors. I will stay at this hotel again.

Stilfuldt og samtidig nede på jorden. Super komfortabelt. Service og personale på højeste niveau. Konceptet med morgenmadsplatte fungerede perfekt og var virkelig lækker.

花緑里-Hanamidori-乙原のやど 岐阜下呂温泉郡上飛騨金山湖畔リゾート ligger i Gujo, kun 19 km fra Gero Station. Her er en terrasse, direkte adgang til pisterne og roomservice. We had a very nice time, beautiful surroundings and the owner was great to us! Very recommended

ペンション ラリー ligger i Kawazu, 35 km fra Shuzenji-templet og 44 km fra Darumayama. Her er en tennisbane og gratis privat parkering samt gratis wi-fi overalt. Very homely. Taxi ride from train station is fast with my heavy luggage. Only about 1100 yen taxi fare. it is easy to walk back to the Sakura path and train station.
