The location is very good, a few minutes away from the metro. The lobby and its design are nice and spacious. The free refreshments are very nice. The employees are very sweet and polite and also meticulous. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. It is very nice that they provide free bicycle service. Especially the toilet is very nice :) It definitely provides a very luxurious service for its price. Thank you for everything.

We had SUCH a great stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel. The location was wonderful, we were in a trendy area with lots of great shops and so many restaurants, yet it was quiet and chill. There are also some nice museums in the area. The room itself was perfect, a big room, comfortable beds, clean. We also took advantage of the wash machine, although it was popular with other guests, it helped us get our clothes clean mid-trip. The staff is super friendly as well.

We were there during the 'Naked' Autumn festival and enjoyed...

We were there during the 'Naked' Autumn festival and enjoyed exploring the Castle grounds at night with all the coloured lights and sounds. The complementary sake and sweet treat were a bonus! We went back in the morning to view the gardens by day and see if we could spot some local birds - didn't disappoint!

Walking through the palace interior was very interesting as it was unlike anything we’d seen before! The surrounding grounds contained beautifully landscaped gardens and a cafe in the style of a Japanese tea house.

You can purchase tickets for Nijo Castle online and do remember to take the full package which includes the tour of the palace (sorry, can't remember what it's called) which housed the Daimyo back then and has since been maintained. Very nice historical trip!

I think Nijo Castle is a beautiful and fascinating place to visit. It is one of the best-preserved examples of a Japanese castle, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first 4 floors are just museum floors - art, history of the castle, etc. If you just want to see the incredible panoramic view at the top get in the line for the elevator which skips those middle floors and goes to the 5th. Otherwise you will have to climb all the flight of stairs regardless if you want to see what's on them. Get there early though - the elevator line gets very long very quickly and the entrance line is just as bad. People start queuing up in line before it even opens.

The hostel was really clean, and the staff very helpful and kind. All the amenities where provided, and also a public bath was available. Its also close to the Nijõ castle, just 5 min walk from the hostel. Easy to reach the metro station, just 10 mins walk.

The location of this hotel is perfect; a 5 minute walk to the subway station in one direction, 5 minutes to Nijo castle in the other direction, loads of great places to eat nearby and two 7-11 locations. The on-site laundry meant we could bring smaller luggage with us as well. The rooms are comfortable and shockingly spacious. Absolutely loved this place!

Nice place in Kyoto. Room is big enough for Japan style. You get all the toiletries for free which is nice if you forgot to bring them. It has air condition which was useful for heating room. Ir was little bit cold in room if you're not using AC but okay. Good location also. Its near Nijo castle and near metro. If you are coming from Osaka you'll need like 10 min walking to get to this place. Also it wasn't mentioned that they have break fro 12 till 15 and in that time you can't leave your luggage or anything.

The hotel room was beautiful!! The bed was really comfortable, and the location of the hotel is great!!! 15 minuents walk to Nishiki market and 35 mineuts walk to Nijo castle/Gion area. There's a subway a mineut walk from the hotel. You get free amnities and even bath tablets witch we enjoyed thouroughly. Will definitely be back in the future!
