Hotels near Plain of Jars: Site 1, Phonsavan

I absolutely loved my stay here at NARIXAY hotel. The room was perfect , clean , big , great bed, great value for money etc.. I would also recommend Phet the host as a tour guide if you plan on visiting THE PLAIN OF JARS. I had a lovely day with him and his family visiting the various sites. He was very helpful booking onward travel arrangements also. I highly recommend staying here 10/10 for sure.

More or less everything. But most of all Mr. Kong. He is responsive on WhatsApp and extremely resourceful — from arriving by night buses, to whether bicycles are available or not, to arranging tuk-tuks and a van ticket to Vang Vieng.

The owners and family were very welcoming and attentive to us. They were gracious hosts and offered good insight into future plans within laos. Would stay there again absolutely.

They picked me up from the bus station for free. The location of the guesthouse is just behind the street that forms the city center. The room is modern and except the shower, the room was fine - it's clean, spacious and has a cosy bed. The AC was new but depending on the travel time it is not needed, as during my stay, the temperature was between 13° in the night and 25° during the day. They also offer free coffee and tea in the morning. On one day, I went on a tour to the Plains of Jars. It was a private tour, as there were no other people on that day. Thus we went by motorbike. Mr. Souk, the guide, was really knowledgeable and it was an interesting day. While the tour felt a bit pricey, I still think it was worth the money. In the end, they also organized my transport to Luang Prabang.
