Fantastische plek. Heel rustig, met een fijn zwembad. Lekkere banken voor algemene gebruik en ook nog een eigen zitje buiten bij je kamer. Kamer erg schoon en fijne met goede bedden en een fijne inloopkast bij de badkamer. Lekker ontbijt en mogelijkheid om te eten. Vlakbij een dorpje met leuk koffietentje op loopafstand. Je kan er ook goed hardlopen.

The villa was super clean, well-maintained, and felt fresh from the moment we arrived. The surroundings were peaceful and full of greenery, perfect for unwinding and relaxing. The host was kind, responsive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, the comfortable setup, and the overall hospitality. Highly recommend staying here for a calm and refreshing experience.

Yala Jungle Haven bevindt zich op 14 km van Tissa Wewa, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, een terras en een 24-uursreceptie. De lodge beschikt over zowel gratis WiFi als privéparkeren. We wanted to stay close to the park with the feeling of being inside it and being close to nature and the animals, and Yala Jungle Haven delivered on all fronts! You’re in the middle of nature, so don’t be spooked when a salamander or lizard walks around the room and leaves some droppings or tiny frogs enter and jump around. They are harmless and make it the full experience. There’s also a small crocodile in the pond next to the room and in the morning we had a water buffalo in it and a peacock on top of the tree. You won’t have aircon or hot water as there’s only one generator but there’s a fan and a mosquito net if you need to open the windows and it’s hot enough to enjoy the colder shower. The owners, Tushara and his parents, are amazing and do everything they can to make you feel at home. The food is freshly prepared and delicious, definitely the bbq chicken (a bit pricey compared to other areas but makes sense as shops are not close and everything is made from scratch). You eat dinner on the rock where you can look at the stars by the fire and a bit higher up you can go watch the sunrise/sunset. Sometimes an animal that can walk under the fence for elephants (monkeys, wild boar, leopard, …) walks by. We saw the first two. Breakfast in the hut is also amazing as a giant squirrel joins you to ask for a banana. Tushara knows a lot about the environment and animals as he has been a guide for over 25 years, so you can ask him anything. We did the full day safari in Yala National Park with them which was also a great experience. We got to see 2 leopards, 40 elephants, 3 crocodiles, many antilopes, spotted deers, birds, water buffaloes, mongoose, monitor lizards, … Unfortunately Tushara couldn’t come with us because the generator broke and he had to stay to fix it, so his cousin came with us. Although he was a man of little (English) words, he made sure we saw a lot of animals and tried to explain what he could.

We had such a nice time here. It's quite rustic and simple, but the rooms are clean, the pool is pleasant, and the proprietors really went the extra mile to make us feel at home. Good homemade food! I like how it's a bit off the main road so it feels very remote and rural. Beautiful views! It didn't hurt that I saw a pair of Paradise Flycatchers bathing in a little water basin. Not a bad spot for birds!
