Thanamal-villa bevindt zich in Tanamalwila, op 34 km van Nationaal park Udawalawe en 26 km van Tissa Wewa, en biedt accommodatie met airconditioning en toegang tot een tuin met een barbecue. My favourite days in Sri Lanka. Peace, nature and a generous and warm host. The safari Prasad arranged was perfect - lots of elephants, a beautiful lotus lake, black- faced monkeys, lots of birds and only 3 other jeeps in the 4.5 hours. The rooms are clean, with a hammock next to a little stream, iguanas, peacocks, monkeys and eagles in the garden. Prasad's mum's coconut rotis are the best I had in my 3 weeks and the room and safari were great value. Thanamalwila has few tourists so unspoilt and the family will help with everything from bus bookings, travel advice to taking me to see a friends farm to see crops growing. The buses from Ella and Galle stop directly outside the homestay so it's really easy to get to. The safari is in Blocks 5 and 6 of Yala. If you want a peaceful safari then I highly recommend Prasad's place.

Wadula Safari - Yala is gelegen in Kataragama in de regio Monaragala District, dicht bij Kataragama-tempel. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. Wadula Safari was amazing. We were greeted by the friendliest staff, taken for a walk around the jungle (where we saw monkeys, all kinds of birds, and lizards), and then served a delicious dinner. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable with amenities like coffee, tea, powerful AC and a modern bathroom. They also arranged a wonderful safari with a guide, and helped us speak with and find our taxi driver.

Tranquil Wild ligt in Tanamalwila met uitzicht op het zwembad en heeft een restaurant, roomservice, snackbar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. Slapen in een natuurlijke omgeving met eigen aapjes in de bomen en prachtige vogels in de tuin is gewoon fantastisch. Wij hebben ook een boottrip gedaan op het meer net naast het hotel. Dit is ongelofelijk mooi zeker met zonsondergang. Een echte aanrader. Anne boekte voor ons een safaritrip naar block 5 en 6 wat goedkoper was dan we zelf vonden op het internet. Het meeste geld hiervan zijn taksen voor de staat, maar het park is zeker de moeite waard. De gids hebben we er ook bijgenomen (is optioneel) hij wist waar we kans maakten op welke dieren en met veel geluk hebben we een luipaard kunnen spotten. Het eten is erg lekker en voldoende keuze in het restaurant.

VR Nature Cottage CABANA is gelegen in Wellawaya, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis WiFi, roomservice, en een 24-uursreceptie. Deze lodge biedt gratis privéparkeren en oppasservice. The accommodation is beautifully situated right next to rice paddies and surrounded by nature. We received a warm welcome from the family. The entire stay felt like being guests of friends. The typical Sri Lankan cuisine and the direct interaction with the host family were a special experience. Thank you so much!

Glimra eco lodge bevindt zich in Hambegamuwa in de regio Monaragala District, en heeft een balkon. Clean, incredible service minded people, the owners built the place themselves and have a beautiful story behind the land they’ve turned into this beautiful place. And the food!!! Their food was amazing!

The resort staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I also found the location to be absolutely superb, offering convenient access to everything I needed. The facilities at the resort were also top-notch.

WildEscape, Yala Blocks 3 & 5 biedt een restaurant en accommodatie met gratis fietsen, een tuin en een gedeelde lounge. Tissa Wewa ligt op 5,3 km. Wow. Did not expect rooms of this quality! Very large farm land with few cabanas spread out. Feels like a mini village. Highlight was the fresh river and river deck which I spent most my time reading. This place opened up a different side to me. Food was all local and healthy. Amazing cycling experience around the village and local lake in the morning followed by a kanda (Herbal Juice with solid honey) in the morning and a river bath will now be my epitome of happiness.
