Pictures do not do this house justice, it is unbelievably beautiful home and Satoshi was so welcoming and offered us stunning recommendations on where you could go sit by the river. The food was delicious and served with care. The beds were very comfortable, I can't recommend it enough, we were blown away by the whole experience.

Iori Stay Takayama is truly exceptional. Our short 3-day, 2-night stay was wonderful. The location is excellent — everything we needed was within walking distance. The staff were outstanding, and I was especially touched by the lady who was there every morning. Our room was located near the lounge, which made it feel as if we had the entire building to ourselves. If I have the chance to visit Takayama again, I will definitely stay here.

We stayed in Iori Tonomachi in Hida Furukawa. I had been looking at properties in Takayama but wasn't satisfied until I saw this stay in neighbouring Furukawa. It was stunning in the pictures so we decided to book 5 nights, as a family of three (including a 1 year old). The place is so well located by the canal, it was like stepping into a piece of history. The area is well maintained and was beautiful with the autumn leaves and koi carp, the setting couldn't have been more perfect. The house itself is warm and inviting and well designed, as well as well equipped with everything we needed. Extra touches such as blinds in the bedroom and bathroom, and a projector which we used for movies, made things even more intimate. The beds were wide and comfortable, and the bathtub was very special. All throughout the stay we felt connected to the wider Hida community. We had greeting gifts of local miso crackers and mouthwatering daifuku, as well bath salts and local spring water. We went back to the shops for more! We were greeted by a member of staff, and they and others remained connected throughout our stay to ensure we had places to eat for lunch and dinner, making reservations for us and organising our luggage forwarding. Our days started off with traditional breakfast sets hand delivered by a sweet lady who even brought a gift for our baby. They were so yummy and differed day to day. We asked for Japanese meals for our entire stay and they accommodated this request. We parked in the city hall car park which was a short walk away. We didn't mind this as we could stroll through the neighbouring Buddhist temple and festival square. We looked forward to returning to Furukawa after our trips, and getting to know the town. We miss it a lot already! The town of Furukawa itself is quiet and artistic, the woodwork is especially of note.

Very very spacious, with a dedicated “camping themed” room where the whole family can watch movies on projector screen (even has popcorn machine!!!). Staff are generous with their smiles and breakfast was awesome. 5 stars rating from everyone in my family, no doubt.

Very good hotel with a large room for Japanese standards The room had a small kitchen with a single electric pit to cook on, and the frigide came with complementary drinks and spices. The bath is pretty big as well. Staff was very friendly and accomodating and the breakfast was good with a chef grilling chicken skewers and making pancakes.
