Denne charmerende herregård stammer fra 1800-tallet og ligger i det finske sødistrikt, 7 km fra Mikkeli. Der tilbydes prisbelønnet restaurant og elegante værelser med udsigt over haven. Breakfast at Tertti, at least until now, is the best Breakfast I had in all my life. So exquisite, fresh, and rich. Salmon, different sort of breads, butter, scrambled eggs (special made), different sorts of fish, different sorts of cheese, and much more, the majority of this treats, elaborated by them, at the Kartano (country house in Finnish). Special mention for Tertti's special Porridge which is from another world, so yummy, just for that, its is worth to pay a visit to this establishment. Staff is very kind, helpful, they make you feel as you would be at home, from the receptionists, the waitresses, the gardener, to the owner, who has been so helpful, giving us extra information about our interests on Finland, and always being concerned about our wellbeing. It is located not far away from Mikkeli, a reasonable size city, and at a stone throw of huge forests and lakes.

Bomila Resort ligger i Joroinen. Dette hotel har 5 stjerner. Her er en terrasse, aircondition og gratis wi-fi. Alle værelser har et privat badeværelse. Fantastic place! Maps gave right directions, easy to find, easy to access with code. Spacious, clean, new and cozy place. Dogfriendly and lots of space to walk (streetlights until midnight). Can regulate the temperature as you want. Confortable bed and fully equipped kitchen, loved that there wwas logical shower and warm water right away (no waiting it to get warm). Car can be parked in front of the house. Door has it's own locking system. Porch is closed, but I wished it was possible to lock the porch door inside too. Wish we had more time to enjoy this place 🩵

Villa Kaidan Kunkku ligger ved stranden i Ristiina, kun 19 km fra Golf-Porrassalmi. Her er en have, et privat strandområde, en terrasse og gratis wi-fi. First of all a big thanks to our great hosts! We traveled to Finland over the New Year and spent a week at the villa. The villa itself is great, it is spacious for 7 people and has a well equipped kitchen for making your own food. The sauna, most likely one of the most important aspects of you are visiting in winter, is great and you can go both with traditional wood heated or convenient electrically heated. The wood stove in the living room is also really cozy and we also enjoyed the amplifier speaker setup, which can also be used at slightly higher volumes as house is in the woods with no neighbors to see close by. Which brings us to the next major plus point. The surrounding landscape is beautiful in the winter (and I would assume in the summer as well). As advertised there is a lake right next to it and we enjoyed a lots of ice bathing while there, in a small ice hole on the lake. Except from that hole tue lake was fully walkable when frozen except for inlets and outlets and some other ice holes. Which really gives out the possibility to do some nice walks, and if you rent snow shoes or have the right skis you can also go of road and see some amazing sights. We hit a could snap while we were there, and at temperatures close to -30 C some of the bedrooms got a little chilly which can easily be remidied by keeping the doors to the living room open. Also, as we were told, temperatures only dip down that for every couple of years. So for us it really was an adventure and we loved it. Leena and Esko were really nice hosts, pointed is towards the right places to go (you need a car), and with a supermarket a close drive by and Mikkeli about twenty minutes driving if we could find everything we needed. We can thus wholeheartedly recommend the Villa and wish all the best to Leena and Esko, and hope to get a chance to return for another visit sometime in the future.
