Bij aankomst kreeg ik een warme en professionele ontvangst van de receptie. In de bar werd ik hartelijk bediend door Amaan, die me met een leuk gesprek thuis deed voelen. De kamer was groot en werd perfect onderhouden. Het restaurant zorgde voor heel lekker eten zowel bij ontbijt, lunch, als diner en het werd professioneel aan tafel bediend.

Mayfair Convention is, as you could guess from the name, mainly used for conventions and meeting rooms. Only the top floor has guest rooms. So it is smaller than you might think from the pictures in terms of guest numbers. The great thing is that its sister hotel over the road has everything you would expect in a top class hotel including many great restaurants, bars, etc which you can use as a guest at Mayfair Convention... but your room costs much less than those over the road. If you are travelling to see the old part of town/temples, it is a fair distance away but transport is very affordable. The team at the hotel are incredibly welcoming and arranged transport and tours for us to Cuttack, Konark and beyond. Thanks so much to everyone at the hotel, especially Jagdish on the front desk!

Breakfast spread was amazing, excellent coffee, the grilled prawns and fish lunch dishes were delicious.
