I LOVED everything about this place! Location was secluded, private and gorgeous and yet close enough to town, national parks and other attractions. You are surrounded by nature so beautiful sunrises and sunsets, butterflies are everywhere, hummingbirds come visit as well as many other beautiful birds. We got to feed and connect with the horses that wondered into the property, WOW! Our host Joe is truly one of a kind, he poured his heart into our experience, he took us to a nearby waterfall and lagoon where we swam all by ourselves! He filled his mud clay pond for us to use as many times as we wanted. Breakfast was delicious and was different each time! This place totally exceeded our expectations! I highly recommend Hacienda en Los volcanos, I know I'll be back!

The stay itself was fantastic. The room was nice, we enjoyed the little pool, breakfast was good, and it was in a peaceful quiet spot. The host though, saved our trip on its first day. I was trying to turn around in the driveway and got our rental SUV stuck in the grass against a tree, right away he called up some neighbours to help push it out. After I was so stressed and he offered his beers to help us relax. What a great guy, and great introduction to tico hospitality.

It’s beautiful and secluded there. The property is lovely and the staff is so kind and accommodating. Our kids loved exploring the trails, property with the animals, and the slide for the pool. It’s a bit out of the way from other attractions , but that’s also the appeal. The food was good.

Rinconcito Lodge features a garden and complimentary WiFi in public areas. The rooms offer a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. They have wooden furniture.

We are looking forward to returning to Rinconcito Lodge! The whole place is comfortable, we liked our junior mountain suite very much, the staff friendly and helpful, food is very good with an easy-going schedule so we only ate two meals a day, perfect for us. The nesting colony of montezuma oropendola birds at the entrance is amazing! Westayed 4 nights And I’m glad we did. This allowed us to rest one day, then took the combo tour on our second day - Horseback ride into the Santa Maria part of the park, wonderful fun and private uncrowded zip line tour with our guides Jose and Ronald, and continued further into the park on horse guided by Terencio who took us deeper into the park eventually on foot to the warm springs river and waited very patiently while we had lunch there and enjoyed the warm waters. he even helped us with the mud. our third day we drove ourselves into the Pailas sector of the park and did our own hiking tour. Rinconcito is a peaceful place with no pressure. as far as we can tell the rooms are all very nice with a range of qualities from smaller rooms close together to the more separate mountain suites that we stayed in. oh a great trail on the property to a waterfall we swam under too.

The location is on the skirts of Miravalles volcano, close to main attractions and tours but not touristy, which we liked. The owner of the place offered to arrange a tour to see sloths or go to thermal baths. You just need to ask. There is a bus stop in front of the property but we had a car and didn't use it.

After a month in Costa Rica, this was one of our highlights. It is a beautiful, well kept property. We loved the main eating area and cabins. The chocolate tour was wonderful! We enjoyed the area and walked the trails- lots of birds! Even the gift shop was good - with reasonable prices!
