The Di-Lac is an excellent choice for a place to stay in Gangtok. It has a more traditional Sikkimese home feel about it with a wonderfully friendly and helpful owner and staff - as opposed to commercial accommodations. The Di-Lac is located an ~10 minute, inexpensive, taxi ride above the main shopping and tourist area of Gangtok so one can have the hustle and bustle of the town or visiting local areas, and then retreat to the peace and calm of the Di-Lac perched high on the hillside above the town with the whole of Gangtok below. From your room balcony, the lounge, or dining area a panorama of Gangtok dwellings extends before you - to the left and right stretching out to distant hills beyond which rise the Himalayas, with only the sky above. The rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and nicely furnished. The bedding is clean, the mattress good, the bed warm and comfortable. Di-Lac breakfast and meals can be taken in the dining area with that panoramic view - or can be taken in your room. Good wholesome food. The owner and staff are delightfully warm, friendly and helpful local people who will look after you during your stay at the Di-Lac, making you feel right at home, and will assist you with all other aspects of your time in Sikkim - arranging tours, booking vehicles, advising places to see and things to do in Gangtok and other places in Sikkim to make your stay at the Di-Lac a truly pleasant and memorable experience.

We arrived at this absolutely delightful homestay with no prior plans or expectations and left thoroughly enlightened by their hospitality and friendly family atmosphere. Our room and ensuite was perfect in very aspect and so very clean - like brand new. Karma is the person in Sikkim to go to for your travel needs and cultural information. His sister is a most wonderful cook and we were served a variety of organic Sikkimese foods. We loved our culinary adventure! Along with their lovely mother this provided us with an unforgettable experience which has forever endeared us to Sikkim and to them. Memories of their kindness will remain with us forever as they opened their hearts to us with genuine hospitality.

Hospitality: This homestay is more comfortable place than home itself. Host Mr Sonam and his whole family has welcomed us with whole hearts and made us very comfortable during our stay. Food: It was pleasure to taste authentic Sikkimese food and also we were offered full kitchen to cook as per convenient. Property Location: this homestay may seem little off to city center but the location makes this place perfect for peaceful and relaxing stay. The view from this homestay is mesmerising. We were offered not only room but the full home to make us feel like we were visiting some close friend’s home, not just a normal Hotel. Plus Point: my 2 kids has enjoyed this stay more than us as they got to play and make friendship with 2 little and cute boys of Mr. Sonam. This part made them re-energised after coming back from full day outing for sightseeing.
