My partner and I stayed at Forest Shade Eco Resort earlier this month and we had a wonderful experience. We came cycling from Colombo and unfortunately had a small accident on the way. We called the hotel and they arranged a vehicle that picked us up straight from the hospital, everything went super smoothly and it was absolutely sweet how everyone was so concerned about us (we are fine now). This place is definetely the right spot when you need to recover from a bicycle accident or life in gereral. Our room and the attached balcony overlooked the river and we had a fantastic view! The food was lovely as well, we got the Sri Lankan option for dinner and breakfast and loved it. This place is a 100 percent recommendation and we will definetely come again on our bikes to explore the beautiful area a bit more.

Very nice calm and peaceful location. Staff is very nice. They tried do the best for guests. Good service. We had a nice experience in a colonial time estate bunglow. Definitely we will visit this place again.

Exceptional, unique resort! You fall asleep on the music of the jungle, see fire flies at night and wake up on the sound of crickets. We absolutely loved this place! The food was great and the tours they recommended us were great! Thanks you to the Wanakest crew, we had a memorable stay!

This is a new place and the quality is first rate. Spacious rooms with an uninterupted view of the jungle. About 1km from the road along a rough track. We ate with the host and the food was delicious. Loads of colulorful birds to watch from the balcony. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. There was also a TV but we didn't use it. At night it is really dark so bring a torch if you are wanting to walk out.

The exceptional customer service at this hotel impressed me. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. The room rates are reasonable, too.
