I loved everything about Halketha. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warmth and hospitality from Chitra, Mary and Nelumi. We were taken to our villa across a beautiful landscaped garden that also stays true to its love for the natural environment. The villa itself was perfection - perfectly decorated, clean, homely but also provided you with a sense that you were in luxury. The outdoor bathroom was a cherry on top, with a beautiful araliya tree in the middle. During our stay, we were not only treated close to family, but the quality of service was nothing like I had seen in Sri Lanka for a long time. The food was authentically Sri Lankan, with a rich yet classic taste. The property is close to mini waterfalls and great walks. This is a stay I will keep coming back to. A reminder that authentic and wholesome experiences still exist in Sri Lanka.

A Misty Mountain Paradise — Beyond Words Just 1.5 hours from Colombo, yet it feels like stepping into a dream — surrounded by misty mountains, forest, and clouds drifting past your window. The villa itself is breathtaking — glass walls all around, giving the feeling of being in a treehouse suspended in the mist. Sunrise feels magical. The food was exceptional — fresh, natural, and made with love. We mostly chose the local dishes — kiribath served with caramelized onion, homemade salmon(red curry), laveriya, herbal porridge and fresh fruits. Their western cuisine was equally wonderful. No added sugar or artificial flavors and the beautiful presentation made every meal memorable. Mouthwatering lunch wrapped in banana leaves and evening tea with helapa added that special Sri Lankan warmth. The villa was spotless — truly the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed. The owner’s hospitality was beyond comparison, making us feel like family. My daughter loved the short forest hike nearby, and the peaceful surroundings made it so hard to leave. Manarala Villa is pure serenity — a 7-star escape where nature, comfort, and care blend perfectly. We can’t wait to return for a longer stay!

The Staff of Ellankanda Villa made our stay so very pleasent. The food was excellent(!) and we always felt very cared about. Rooms are very clean and you can tell that there is a sense of detail, which give the place its charme. It is a quite place, but you can nicely explore the area by yourself (or in our case we were even gives a small tour by the Staff - thank you again!). Absolut recommendation if you want to spend some quite days in a great place.

A beautiful boutique style hotel with beautiful clean rooms and comfortable beds, a luxurious bathroom and a chef who makes delicious food. Very friendly, attentive, helpful, hardworking staff who will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. I couldn’t find Nutella in the shops at any of the previous hotels we stayed in. When tree of life contacted me to remind me of my booking I asked them did they know where I could find Nutella anywhere in Sri Lanka. Within one hour the hotel bought it and had it ready for my daughter on her arrival. THis kind gesture made her whole trip. Great job!!!

Unexpectedly found, It is small villa, with mini fridge and kitchen. Room is plenty for 2 of us, with a comfortable bed. Everything was there that we can think of like hot water, A/C, and the internet. Owner of the place was very kind towords us.Beach near it was one of the best. He arrange a village tour for free of charge. Breakfast was also good. The time spent there was very enjoyed.

I absolutely loved staying here. The place is rather secluded, away from tourist crowds, but what you're getting outweighs this in so many ways. And you're getting: (1) the host who is always eager to help and who, I could see, really cares about the property and keeps it well-functioning at all times, (2) a personal chef who cooks delicious meals to your order every evening — the prices are more than reasonable, and the food I tried in nearby restaurants doesn't even compare to the quality of these home-cooked wonders, (3) amazing and helpful staff who make sure all your needs are met, (4) beautiful clean beach just 20-30 meters away from your room, (5) picturesque sunsets you can view right from the balcony.

This is a wonderful place with great bungalows, a lovely garden with pool and the nicest hosts who will do everything to make you feel at home. Even before you arrive Nelson makes you feel so welcome and he cooks a delicious rice and curry. I wish I could have stayed longer!
