It was clean and pretty, just as you see it on the pictures. You can see the amazing sunrise over the ocean from the Villa. Foremost, the staffs were just so genuinely lovely - they are so nice, friendly and helpful, they always try to accommodate you, cared about how you are doing, and even arranged guides/drivers that were costumed to meet my needs. The guides/drivers they arranged were so lovely as well. You cannot just go out to eat (it’s the nature of this island - big and intact nature), but the food was wonderful, lots of selections - local Sumba food and other food - so I was very happy with having dinner at the hotel every night. I really really loved the place and the staff, they definitely helped me fall in love with the island! Truly highly recommended!!!

Praikamarru Home Stay ligger i Matawai, Sumba og har en balkon. Villaen ligger i en bygning fra 2017, 2,5 km fra Padadita Beach. Eddy the host is super nice. The location is great - in a quite village and very close to the city with any shop you’ll need.

The room was new, spacious, and very clean. The owners are incredibly kind and love their dogs (and puppies!) - dog lovers will feel right at home here. There’s no AC, but the cool nights made it perfectly comfortable. The Wi-Fi runs on Starlink, so the connection was strong. And the food… absolutely amazing - probably the best we had in all of Sumba! Don’t miss their famous lobster soup!

The staff is some of the best people! We had a lovely stay thanks to Eka and all the team that always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.

KANDORA Luxury villas ligger i Maujawa og har gratis cykler, udendørs swimmingpool, en have og privat strandområde. Her er en bar, vandsportsfaciliteter og massagebehandlinger. It's a family-owned resort, stand right by the beach. Iwan, the manager of the resort, picked us up from the airport. He speaks English well and very friendly. So upon our arrival till departure, all the staffs there, Iwan, Orfi and Angel, were so helpful and tried to make our stay convenient, and to this, we may say they did a super job. 👏👏👏

One of the most beautiful properties we have seen- the view, the villa and especially the service (Jois was exceptional)- pure luxury. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay at Har's place. The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience. Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing. Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc. Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special. Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

Alamayah Boutique Retreat Hotel ligger i Deke, 6 minutters gang fra Pantai Watu Bella Strand, og har en udendørs swimmingpool, et fitnesscenter og en have samt gratis privat parkering. Everything! Amazing stay, everything is beautiful and the place is very cozy its like staying at home!

Maringi Sumba by the Sumba Hospitality Foundation ligger i Waikelo og har gratis cykler, udendørs swimmingpool, en have og terrasse. The staff here is beyond delightful, they made the stay! Helpful, friendly. The aromatherapy massage was excellent as well!
