Lovely place, lovely location, lovely room and lovely family. Probably my favourite stay during my solo trip, the owners were so kind and English explanations about the area were really good. The room was lovely with a nice sea view and the tatami floor is quite interesting , the kumano downtown is close and peaceful but have all the facilities you need. Highly recommend if you are interested in kumano kodo or travelling around Wakayama.

We have stayed in 4 Fairfield by Marriott hotels now. The staff are always helpful and the facilities suit our requirements. Price is reasonable and we like to stay in the small towns.

Wij waren er veel eerder dan verwacht en via Booking even een berichtje gedaan. al snel kwam er iemand onze kant op en konden we onze bagage achter laten en een fiets te huren. Hier dus de omgeving al vrij vroeg kunnen verkennen dankzij de snelle service.

Fairfield by Marriott Mie Kumano Kodo Mihama ligt in Mihama, op 10 km van Ubuta Shrine en 11 km van Kumano Hayatama Taisha, en biedt accommodatie met een gedeelde lounge, gratis WiFi in de hele... We were genuinely quite surprised at how nice this hotel was. Visiting as part of a three week tour for our honeymoon, we stayed in 9 hotels, and some swanky ones costing almost 10x this per night. Somehow I remember this over most of them. Value for money, this was the best out of them all. Service was amazing (obviously, it's Japan). The reception, halls and rooms were mostly made out of wood and with the lighting low and moody, it was a very chilled and relaxing place to be. The bed was gigantic, and the amenities in the room just what you need - really good shower with good shampoo and gel, mirrors, water, tea & coffee with a kettle, pj's etc. In addition, there's a communal area on the ground floor with a fridge containing frozen fresh soups (didn't try), and a microwave, kettle, and all of the utensils for dinner in a kitchen area nearby. It's on a main-ish road but we couldn't hear any noise at all in case you have concerns. There's no restaraunt here but they offer bento boxes for breakfast. I'd highly recommend the Benkei restaraunt over the road for some extremely nice Ramen!

Ise Guest House Kazami is gelegen in Ise, op 5,8 km van Ise Jingū-schrijn en 3,5 km van Oharai-machi. Very unique and beautiful design of the guest house. The owner and a staff were really friendly and kind. Close to the nearest station and one of the main shrines in Ise.

Hoshidekan Ryokan (een lid van de Japanse Inn Group) ligt op 500 meter van het treinstation Kintetsu Iseshi en is gevestigd in een houten gebouw uit de jaren 1920. The innkeepers are very enthusiastic and helpful, making this traditional Japanese inn, which has been passed down through 4 generations, the best place to stay for tourists from all over the world who visit Ise Jingu Shrine. In addition to being able to stay in a traditional building that is nearly 100 years old, listening to the Suikinkutsu in the garden was the biggest surprise, and I hope that the innkeepers will further maintain it so that it can be restored to its full functionality. The breakfast was heartfelt and the Japanese-style family bathroom was very cozy.

Absolutely Incredible Stay – Beyond Expectations! Our stay at this onsen house was next level incredible! We were two families travelling together (11 of us in total, with kids aged 3–13), and this home fit us all with ease, comfort and so much space to breathe. Every single detail has been so thoughtfully designed from the layout and functionality to the warm, welcoming atmosphere that made it instantly feel like home. The onsen was my absolute favourite part. Pure heaven! Being able to soak and unwind after long days exploring was such a gift, and it quickly became everyone’s nightly ritual. The kids loved the open spaces, the adults loved the calm and comfort, and we all appreciated how effortless everything felt. There was so much room for connection and privacy and you can tell the hosts have really thought of everything to make a stay smooth, relaxing, and memorable. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer as it was that good. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of luxury, functionality and soul-soothing relaxation, this place is it. Perfect location for us with a car and close to great attractions too.
