In total I Stayed 6 weeks with Emi and Soku and I had an amazing stay. (One month and later I came back for 2 weeks) The rooms are big enough, it's possible to slide your suitcase under the bed and there are hooks to hang stuff. They are basically ready for any situation. Bigger groups and single guests. And if you are lucky you might end up alone in a clean room, in a comfy normal single or double bed for the price of a dorm! There is a clean kitchen area with 2 stoves, rice cooker, microwave and a small oven and enough pans, plates ect, to make nice dinners. All the rooms are provided with airconditioning and heater if needed. Next to that you are able to rent bicyles, surkskates and surfboards. Also Soku provides skate and surflessons. And the best are Emi en Soku themselves, they are so helpful alsways try to think from the perspective of the guests. In one word, like I said before, just amazing. If you are in this area I would definitly suggest to stay at this place. The location is a bit remote. Busses and trains just ride at certain times. It just needs some planning to get here. Also you can just contact Emi and Soku if you need some help with that. Supermarkets are a bit far. The closest konbini is 10 minutes by bike. But again Emi and Soku can give you a ride to the Supermarket sometimes and with planning your food a bit it's not a problem at all So it's not all around the corner, but instead you get a nice quiet experience in Aoshima, one of Japan's paradises.

Guesthouse EL CAMPO ligger i Gokase, 47 km fra Aso-bjerget, og har en bar og gratis privat parkering. Gæsterne kan nyde bjergudsigten. I only stayed the one night at El Campo because I was just passing through. My stand alone cabin was spacious, with futon upstairs and kitchenette, bathroom, dining space downstairs. There was a small incident re damage to my rental car by another guest which required police involvement for insurance purposes. I was very thankful that the manager noticed what was happening and came and assisted. He very kindly spoke to the rental agency and the police on my behalf. Which I found very relieving because the language barrier can be really challenging especially in stressful situations. Thank you very much!

Guesthouse ＆ Beach Cafe Fuego ligger i Hyuga, 24 km fra Totoro-kō, og har en have, en terrasse og en bar samt gratis privat parkering. The personnel were one of the most friendly and lovely people I met in japan. Lovely location too. Coming back next year👌🌊🏄

The Little Garden ligger i Miyazaki, 17 minutters gang fra Cape Iruka. Her en have og et fælles opholdsområde samt gratis wi-fi. Der er desuden røgfrie værelser. Overnatningsstedet ligger ca. Stort værelse med eget toilet og håndvask. Skøn fællesstue / køkken med udsigt over bugten. Dejlig atmosfære og søde værter. Populært sted for surfere.

Denne ryokan åbnede i april 2014 efter en grundig renovering og tilbyder rummelige værelser omgivet af rolige bjerge. This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed at during our trip. Set right against the mountain, surrounded by lush green trees and a river running right below us…it was spectacular to see. The onsens were lovely and we used the private onsen right beside the main building.

Ryokan Shinsen ligger i Takachiho, 6 minutters gang fra Takachiho Shrine og 1,8 km fra Takachiho Gorge Freshwater Fish Aquarium. Her er en have og gratis privat parkering samt gratis wi-fi. This was our favorite place in Kyushu. It is small and the attention to every detail is exceptional. The decor from the wallpapers to the tiles, and from the design of the onsen to the gardens are impeccable. The meals were also excellent. The hospitality of the staff, in particular Kumi-San and Megumi-San, was also a highlight.
