I think it's difficult to stay in a better place on Inle Lake. No detail is missing in the bungalows and the breakfasts are simply incredible. Varied, delicious and always with some local specialty. But there is something that surpasses everything in this establishment, and that is its staff. Kind, willing, professional and always with a genuine smile on their face. We cannot be more grateful for how pleasant they have made our stay in this fantastic corner of Myanmar.

The room is large, everything is clean, breakfast is normal. There are problems with electricity, like everywhere else, but the hotel has solar panels and a generator. Not very good wifi. The staff is wonderful - they organized boat and car excursions to Pindaya and helped us buy bus tickets to Bagan. After visiting this hotel, I now think that the main wealth of Myanmar is the people of this country.

The facilities are first rate and the staff is amazing. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. They put every effort into doing whatever was necessary to make my stay perfect. I was there kind of off season, so the spa was closed, but I wanted services, so they had someone come in for me. I had an amazing massage. The room was gorgeous, the bed was so comfortable, and I loved the shower. Breakfast was quite yummy and they had rooms service for other meals also. The boatman they had for my lake tour really took me all over the lake. The prices were reasonable, so I could relax and just enjoy the lovely place and not stress about anything.

This was our third visit to Inle Lake, but our first time staying at Viewpoint Ecolodge – and it exceeded all expectations. The hotel is easily accessible by car, has secure parking, and is located very close to the Inle Lake jetty, which made getting around incredibly convenient. We stayed in the Family Suite on May 4–5, and it was perfect for our family. The suite includes two separate rooms, each with its own private bathroom, and a connecting door that offers extra privacy – ideal for two families or friends traveling together. The balcony offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The room was spacious, clean, uniquely designed, and most importantly, very comfortable – we truly enjoyed our time there. The suite also featured air conditioning and 24-hour electricity, which is a big plus since many hotels in the area do not offer round-the-clock power. This added comfort made a big difference for us, especially as a family. Breakfast was a highlight – a delicious mix of traditional Shan dishes and international options, all beautifully presented and accompanied by freshly brewed coffee. One of the most memorable experiences was the floating swimming pool – peaceful, beautifully designed, and reached by traditional Intha boat, which made it even more special. The entire setting, especially the private lake, created a truly relaxing atmosphere. We were fortunate to receive a complimentary late check-out, giving us extra time to enjoy the lake. The hotel arranged a silent, stylish, and comfortable speedboat, making our lake tour smooth and relaxing. Finally, the staff were exceptional – always friendly, helpful, and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome. We highly recommend Viewpoint Ecolodge to anyone visiting Inle Lake. It offers a perfect blend of comfort, local charm, and natural beauty. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Gypsy Inn ligger i Nyaung Shwe, 16 km fra Inlesøen og 13 km fra Maing Thauk Bridge. Her er en have og gratis privat parkering samt gratis wi-fi. I have been coming to Gypsy Inn for more than a decade because I love the hospitality of this wonderful family. It is a good location if you want to be close to the pier where the boats leave to Inle Lake. The room was spacious with high ceilings and I got clean, white bed sheets and towels. Windows have mosquito nets - I had not a single mosquito in my room. You can book tours and busses to Bagan or Yangon / Mandalay at the reception. The room rates are among the best in town and it used to be THE guesthouse backpackers hung out at before NyaungShwe was flooded with hotels. Nowadays many hotels are closed but the Gypsy is still up and running. If you are on a budget and look for a familiar atmosphere then come here.
