One of the best places I've stayed at during my travels through South America! This newish hostel is located just one block from the main plaza . It is super clean, comfortable, safe, and quiet. The owners are incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. Sometimes you will get a morning coffee and there's free fruit and tea. One of the best parts is the kitchen--it is the best stocked kitchen I've used in a hostel--stove, oven, toaster, and coffee maker and tons of pots and pans that are in good condition and plates, bowls, utensils to use. Everything works and it's just a pleasant place to make a meal. This place just feels like home. The hostel has both private rooms and dorm rooms. For those staying in the dorm rooms, you get a large towel and a face towel (unheard of in Latin America) and you don't need to pay extra. The private rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms. But there are plenty of bathrooms to use. They are clean, and the showers have good water pressure and consistent hot water. The location is another plus. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. If you are coming by bus, you could easily walk to the hostel from the station. It will be about a 20-minute walk (no hills). An Uber cost me about 2,500 pesos. I have stayed at two other places in Salta and Clivias Hostel is so much better than the other places I've stayed at.

EDIFICIO ALVARADO ligger i Salta, 7 minutters gang fra Cabildo Histórico de Salta og 700 m fra Plaza 9 de Julio. Her er aircondition. The unit is very nice. Comfortable bed and nice sofa. They seem to have good kitchen supplies which we didn't really take advantage of. The washing machine seemed to be out of service. They have 2 TV screens and the internet works perfectly. They have a roll down screen to separate the bed and the living room space which we kept up because we stayed with our son who slept on the sofa that turns into a bed, which was quite a comfy and big sofa. Temperature control was easy. Comfortable, and what we liked a lot was the location was very conveniently located in a safe neighborhood. We could walk to the city center and also to the park where the teleferico cable car starts.

Peaceful and relaxing rural location in a vineyard, in touch with nature, really warm and friendly hosts. Our hosts made a fire outside for us so that we could sit and watch the stars. We also had a fantastic evening meal and breakfast, adapted for vegans too!

I'm glad I was there on a clear night; it's a place you can see all the stars from. This is a very spacious and well-appointed cottage in a super-serene location. Woke up to probably the best Andes vista I found during my time in Salta. It's a very cute getaway with a lot of character, sheep and dogs on the property, and the hosts were friendly, flexible and accommodating. Wish I stayed longer.
