It is quite a walk to get there, but it is 100% worth it, especially given that they provide luggage pick up (at a fair price) by a llama. The hosts were super welcoming providing information about surrounding hikes and great meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at a fair price.

El Alto International Airport is 147 km away, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. What an amazing little paradise! I stayed for a few days in a shared dorm after El Camino de La Muerte and it was great! Very easy to get to with public transportation (to/from La Paz). They give you a map of the property so you can go explore all of its trails and viewpoints. Great place to enjoy nature and relax! There are 2 pools and even a yoga/meditation room. It’s a 20 minute walk to the main town. The restaurant has really good food, portions and fair prices.

A Magical Escape with Breathtaking Views Our stay was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and spotless. Although we were delayed by the boat and had to climb what felt like a thousand steps to reach the lodge (a bit of an exaggeration!), the host went out of his way to help—he sent his younger brother to meet us along the way, and he was incredibly kind and helpful. By the time we reached the lodge, night had fallen and the moon was just beginning to rise over the horizon—a massive orange glow that added to the magic of the moment. The views from the lodge were nothing short of breathtaking. It was truly a special and unforgettable experience.

The room is quite simple, but the view of the lake from the room and terrace is literally that of a five stary hotel. Very comfy bed, friendly owners, good breakfast. Isla del Sol is a beautiful place.

The room I stayed in, looked over the sea and I woke up early to watch sunrise from bed and it was magical!! The beds are really comfy and have lots of blankets to keep you warm as it gets chilly, a basic shared shower, which I thought was cold, until the manager came to turn on the hot water and it was delightful! The owners are really friendly and so happy to welcome you to their place.
