Very nice and clean, I liked the fact that it was a key safe, so could come and go as we pleased. Slightly difficult to find, but rang the owner and he picked up straight away, and directed us. The place was lovely and clean, and there was plenty of choice for continental breakfast. There was lots of info about the local area too.

Great friendly staff , great atmosphere on the bar/eating area. The room was spacious, very well decorated , clean and a great powerful shower. Would highly recommend.

( sky tv complimentary water etc) staff so lovely & helpful There is a courtesy car which can take you to and from the other restaurants ie Milsoms & Talbooth … If you don’t want the continental breakfast which is offered here you can go to Milsoms for a cooked full English which is excellent. ( lots if choice on Milsoms menu) we love the spa here which is amazing

Secluded Island Retreat - in the heart of the Anchorage ligger i West Mersea, 44 km fra Hedingham Castle, 45 km fra Chelmsford Train Station og 16 km fra Colchester Zoo. The accommodation and facilities are excellent. Brilliantly laid out with an excellent use of the space. Great location and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I had a brief stay for a local meeting, which required some follow-up work that I was able to do right at the cottage. It was a delight to look out over the fields, and the cottage was stocked with everything one could possibly need - from juices, beer, wine, and cheeses to antipasti, snacks, cakes, eggs, milk, and, of course, tea and coffee. And that’s just the beginning! The hosts have truly gone above and beyond. Thank you so much 🙏
