Renny's Tangkoko Safety Stop ligger i Bitung. Der er gratis wi-fi overalt. Der er et fuldt udstyret privat badeværelse med bruser og gratis toiletartikler. Vi havde et fantastisk ophold på dette homestay, som har en perfekt beliggenhed lige ved Tangkoko Nationalpark. Værelserne var rene og pæne, og der var altid adgang til drikkevand. En tilknyttet restaurant ligger kun 10 minutters gang væk – lige ud til stranden – og serverer virkelig god mad. Leita, som står for det praktiske, var hurtig til at svare og hjalp os med alt fra transport til lufthavnen til en fair pris, tøjvask (rent, strøget og pænt foldet – med en mild og behagelig duft), samt booking af ture. På vores morgentur havde vi Ino som guide – og han var intet mindre end fantastisk. Han var dybt engageret, havde stor respekt for naturen og et imponerende kendskab til området. Takket være ham så vi bl.a. hornbills, bear cuscus, flagermus, kingfisher og black macaques – og han tog skønne billeder for os gennem sin linse. Renny selv tog os med på natteturen. Det var tydeligt, at hun kender skoven ud og ind. Hun fandt bl.a. en fugleedderkop og en lille ugle og sørgede for, at vi fik gode billeder med hjem. Alt i alt en virkelig god og tryg oplevelse – vi følte os i gode hænder hele vejen. Og vigtigst af alt: de var bare skønne mennesker. Vi kommer meget gerne tilbage!

Mikha Homestay BUNAKEN ligger i Manado med udsigt til byen. Her er et privat strandområde, en terrasse og en restaurant. Der er også gratis wi-fi. If you are coming here for snorkeling, Pangalisan beach and the area in front of Bunaken cafe n resto is the best and easiest shore-entry snorkel I have found. It's a 15 minute walk. The area directly in front of the homestay is not well-suited for snorkeling due to boat traffic and currents. It's so good that I'm coming back again.

Wawowow ligger i Tomohon, 33 km fra Manado-havnen, og har en have, en terrasse og en restaurant samt gratis privat parkering. Wawowow is a very special place. But it’s not for everyone. If you want to be away from city sounds and pollution, way out in the peace of the countryside among farms and mountain views — and if you are a person who enjoys the ruggedness of tent or A-frame cabin camping, then you will love Wawowow. Alvin has built this off-the-grid retreat himself, adding to it each year. He and his staff are caring and helpful. The well laid out grounds are covered in lawns and most if not all tents and cabins have small brick firepits. Alvin can provide the firewood for them. When I was there a number of people sat around these campfires at night singing and playing guitars. No sound amplification is allowed. Some people chose to stay on the grounds for several days. I used it as a jumping off place each morning to tour different parts of the Tomohon area each day., returning each evening.

From the moment you pass through the small gap in the mangroves and set foot on the white sandy beach, you are embraced by the warm, welcoming atmosphere created by the owner Marijn, his lovely team of local staff and the two gorgeous dogs, Bug and Mickey. Marijn made the whole experience feel personal and genuine. He’s a true nature lover and it was inspiring to see how enthusiastic he was about the wildlife around the resort. He eagerly pointed out birds, critters and plants during the day and even took time to show us fascinating nocturnal creatures after dark. Sharing meals, great conversations and a few fun evenings playing games together, it honestly felt like staying with friends rather than being guests at a resort.  The traditional wooden bungalows were simple but so very comfortable and well thought out. Perfectly suited to the surrounding nature. The wonderful staff were warm, friendly, kind and attentive, always making sure we felt looked after. And the food deserves special mention too. Every dish was fresh, creative and full of local flavour — a real highlight of our stay.  The snorkelling itself, both on the house reef and by boat, was varied and outstanding. Even though this is a dive resort, they made us feel welcome to join the boat when they were going diving and always made sure there was something for us as well as the divers. The highlight definitely was an encounter with a very friendly dugong! We also enjoyed wandering into the nearby jungle - the island’s tranquility adds so much to the overall experience. Nomad Divers really isn’t your average dive resort. It’s a place that connects you — to nature, to people, and to that simple, genuine sense of belonging that’s increasingly rare to find. After all our years of travel and snorkelling, this stay was truly memorable, and we hope to return one day.

A Great Homestay located right across the street from the entrance to Tangkoko National Park. Our room was spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed and private bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. All the staff were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The AC was very much appreciated too! We did 2 treks in the jungle with a very knowledgeable guide. We so enjoyed seeing all the wildlife. The entire experience was amazing!

Is the best stay I had in all my travels! - Owners can speak very good English and they are so helpfull - Food is amazing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all very good all days - the room was clean and with airco - they help you with boattransfer and transport - The owner took me with him to see dolphins. We saw like 100 dolphins. After that we stopped for two snorklingspots, wich were so beautiful - Homestay is at the beach, when you walk 200m in the water, you van snorkle very good (so many turtles and nice coral) - just an amazing place
