We chose Kikuchi instead of Kumamoto, to get away from the city before our trip to Mt Aso. We got a lovely country house, but the main benefit was the lovely couple who hosted us. Super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed breakfast, my wife skipped hers, so the host packed it as a bento box for our lunch. Vegetables from the garden. A guided visit to the forest to see fireflies. Tastes of local food and drink. It was if we were lodging with my favourite aunt and uncle.

We can feel the dedication and care that the hotel owner puts into managing the hotel. Every detail, from the room decor to the food and service for breakfast and dinner, is meticulously prepared. The comfort and decoration in the rooms feel very thoughtful! You can see the sakura petal decorations on the windows and the high-quality patterned and textured toilet paper in the bathroom, showing the owner’s attention to detail. Each room has its own private hot spring bath and toilet. We were pleasantly surprised that the hot spring water flows continuously, which is a huge plus for us after a tiring journey. The preparation of breakfast and dinner in the restaurant is also very thoughtful. The staff provide excellent service, and the food is both delicious and beautifully presented. Overall, it is truly perfect. We would give it a full score.

The property was the perfect getaway for us on our way to Mt Aso. Located in the mountain it gave us the opportunity to relax completely. Despite the staff not being able to speak much English, we were taken care of in the best way possible.

Rental villa Gontaya ligger i Takamori, 48 km fra Suizenji Park, 50 km fra Kumamoto-borgen og 25 km fra Aso-bjerget. Her er en balkon og gratis wi-fi. Love the wooden structure of the property. It is super spacious, and quiet. The host had provided good direction as to how to navigate to the property, making life easier for me travelling there by car (especially in the dark). The kitchen had all the utensils I needed to prepare a good decent dinner for my family. The host also kindly provided some complimentary gifts for our stays. Thank you.

Hokkoma Aso Private cottage 1棟貸しコテージ南阿蘇 er et overnatningssted med en have og en terrasse der ligger i Aso, 35 km fra Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto, 45 km fra Suizenji Park og 46 km fra Hosokawa... We stayed for 2 nights at Hokkoma cottage and loved our stay. The property itself was wonderful, had everything we needed and felt like home. Our trip was focused on taking advantage of Aso's beautiful nature and the cottage's location allowed us to do this. It was also great to know that there was a large bath to use after the hike to soak our tired legs!

We didn't walk to the nearby onsen town, but it is walkable (a bit of a hill), and there are many walking trails around the house. This house has a fence for dogs but we didn't travel with pets and found it made a great yard for our kids to play. The onsen bath in the house is great and there is plenty of space.

フォレスタ阿蘇車帰 ligger i Aso, 24 km fra Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto og 33 km fra Kumamoto-borgen. Overnatningsstedet ligger ca. Great location for the Tenmonkan district and getting to Sakurajima island (10 min walk to ferry). The host was also very nice and welcoming.

Glamping Village LEAF ligger i Mashiki, 5,8 km fra Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto og 10 km fra Suizenji Park. Her er gratis wi-fi, aircondition, en sæsonåben udendørs swimmingpool og en have. Great place with very cheap price considering all the services you get. Room and all the equipment are comfortable and very functional. What exceeded our expectations was the free barbecue dinner arrangement, where the hotel provided all the drinks, vegetables, rice, seasoning, grill, and all equipment for free! You only need to buy your own meat. At this price, I couldn't believe how much they offer to the customers.

Hos パワースポットキャンプ場 i Shimoda er der bjergudsigt, en have og en terrasse. Egao Kenko Stadium Kumamoto ligger 24 km fra campingpladsen, mens Suizenji Park ligger 30 km væk. Excellent value for money. Great accommodation with a lot of attention to detail. Loved staying there! Thank you for creating and maintaining this place.
