The Naramachi Villa Kamunabi is a traditional 'machiya' [townhouse] in a quiet neighborhood just south of the main commercial/tourist area in Nara. The villa has recently been remodelled with exceptional taste and functionality: every detail has been carefully thought out in a beautiful blend of tradition and modern convenience. There were 6 of us, and we had plenty of room. We loved the 2-story layout, with a large tatami room, a cozy living room, kitchen, toilet, and bath on the first floor, and a huge upstairs with two beds, a desk, and a large tatami area. We slept on 3 very comfortable futon on the first floor for those of us over 60 (!), with the younger family members upstairs. The kitchen was well-equipped (with an induction range, no less), and the bath exceptional. There were separate heating/cooling units in the three main areas, which allowed us to adjust temperatures as needed. A perfect place for a family vacation or a group of friends to stay.

The guesthouse was surrounded by forested mountains and only the peaceful sounds of nature. The breakfast was the most memorable meal I have had in Japan. I loved all the food, especially being invited to join the hosts to eat dinner with them. It was a pleasure to be able to see the working farm with goats, chickens and an adorable cat. I loved learning about the plant-dying methods using local leaves and the couple's deep knowledge about this art. It would be nice to return one day.

Beautiful renovated house in the middle of Nara countryside. Staff was extremely kind and attentive, we felt like we were in a japanese house. The woods surrounding the house were really beautiful, and food was really good - ideal for anyone wanting to escape and rest in a quiet area

This is a very large property with lots of space for a family. It’s Japanese style but there are also western style beds if you prefer. The owner is very kind and left many snacks and food for us to enjoy. She is an excellent communicator. The location is perfect - right next to Nara station

Having an elevator and a parking spot was convenient for our group especially our elderly. The host was quick in responding to our messages prior and during our stay, she also prepared some goodies for us as breakfast.

Minshuku Kawarabi-so ligger i Nosegawa. Denne ryokan har 2 stjerner samt værelser med aircondition og et fælles badeværelse. Alle værelser hos ryokanen har fladskærms-tv. The owner was very helpful to review my stay schedule during the whole hiking of Kumano Kodo, Kohechi trail. He helped me to add one night stay so that we didn't skip one stage and walked safely. I truly appreciate his help and support.

THE KAKU Exclusive suite & Residence ligger i Nara, 17 minutters gang fra Nara Station, og har gratis wi-fi samt gratis privat parkering. The care we had and the attention to detail in how this house is finished is exceptional. Perfect location for exploring Nara, we also loved the easy connection by train to Kyoto and Osaka. Many booking venues say they are exclusive, but this one truly was. Worth the money we paid…
