We extended our stay and remained with Shardul and his family for 5 amazing days. The room is big, clean and comfortable and the garden is so beautiful to sit in, and we enjoyed all the great food there. Many of us asked for the recipes as we could not get enough, and Shardul’s wife Ankita happily promised to share 😊 The village close by is full of friendly people, the temple and market are worth a visit. We went for the safari 3 times and saw so many animals and enjoyed the fresh air and nature. Shardul is a wonderful guide who will answer every question. His family and staff are so attentive and makes you feel at home. We will definitely come again to this beautiful place.

We stayed at Nanu’s homestay for a week and I can’t imagine a better experience in Bardia! Nanu and the family are incredibly kind people, and we felt deeply cared for the entire stay — would HIGHLY recommend staying with Nanu’s family. Safari experience: We were hoping to see a tiger, and went on two full-day walking safaris, a full day jeep safari, and several sunset/sunrise safaris with Nanu. A lof of patience & luck is needed to spot big animals, but Nanu pulled out all the stops to try to help us find wildlife, and in the end we were treated to rhino, leopard, gharial, and tiger sightings!!! Nanu is very invested in helping guests have the best experience possible — he even organized a sunrise safari on the day of our departure as a last-chance effort to see a tiger, which succeeded! Homestay experience: The family homestay environment is what truly made Bardia so special for us. Kali, Nanu’s wife, is extremely kind and welcoming, and is an excellent chef. She’s also a certified nature guide and does some junior guiding with Nanu, which is incredibly cool in a park with few female guides. Their sons are very involved with guests, and they have a sweet dog as well. The family is happy to help with arrival/departure logistics as well. Rooms: We stayed in the king room and had a big bed with a mosquito net & fan (though we didn’t need either in November), electrical outlets in the room, and a private attached bathroom with hot water. We also had a front porch with wicker chairs to relax in, and there’s a shaded communal eating area for guests & family. Be aware that the rooms are a bit rustic (screens rather than windows, some geckos/insects, etc.) but that’s to be expected for a homestay in Bardia! Value: Unbeatable value, which comes across in every aspect of the experience. We spent ~$200 USD per person for six nights at the homestay, including room, food, and many safaris with Nanu.

You become one of the Family at Golden River, I had such a fantastic time here, a wonderful family led by Pappu, Incredible guide, the most delicious food & the best location 😍😍 I saw so many birds just sat on the porch drinking Masala Chai, Recommend to anyone who wants to fulfill their dreams of seeing the wildlife & experience the warmth & hospitality of a great local family, & yes, I saw 3 Tigers amongst so much other wildlife!!!! 😍😍🐯🐯😍😍

Namaste Bardiya Resort bevindt zich in Bhurkīā met uitzicht op de bergen en heeft een restaurant, een gratis shuttleservice, bar, tuin en terras. The experience in Bardia was great thanks to the staff on Namaste Bardiya Resort. The activities they proposed are perfect: we did jungle walks and Jeep safari and slept in the tree house. Every activity was different and I would totally reccomend them all: the jungle walk is to feel more connected to the nature, with the jeep safari is possible to cover more ground and rush to see the animals when they are spotted somewhere in the park and the tree house is a wonderful experience to sleep in the jungle. We saw a lot of animals including the big ones: a tiger, a herd of elephants and multiple rhinos. This was possible thanks to the knowledge of our guide (also our host) Krishna. The resort is very nice and confortable, Krishna's family super nice and the rest of the staff too. The food is always cooked fresh and delicious. Plus, the place is very close to the entrance of the park and right in front of the river (where we were swimming to chill a bit) so sometimes is possible to spot animals even from the resort (even inside, deers crossed the property and even a monkey was sitting on our room porch). The rooms are simple with everything you need.

There are a lot of lodges and resorts, and they all offer pretty much the same things. But Bardia Wildlife Resort TRULY stood out. We stayed in a newly renovated room with air conditioning, good wifi, excellent meals. We took all our meals in the beautiful garden. We were surprised to see pizza and lasagna on the menu! And even more surprised when it really WAS pizza and lasagna! A welcome change from the usual Nepali food. The personal attention was incredible! Hira, the owner, took my wife into town to a fabric store where they made her two comfortable dresses for 1700 rupees, about 14 USD. I work in health care, and they arranged a visit to a local clinic, as well as the usual jeep and walking trips into the park.

I booked with Hukum and his family for a week, but ended up staying for two. I went on several safari trips in the jungle, both walking and by car. Hukum is a knowledgeable guide who can tell you much about the local animals and birds, and when he was busy I was also guided by his friends, who are equally capable. The food at Jungle Base Camp is good and varied, and the vicinity is calm. I highly recommend Jungle Base Camp for your visit to Bardiya.

Mr B’s Place, mere steps from Bardiya National Park, is run by a lovely family. It would not be enough to say that the rooms are clean and comfortable, that the food is fresh,delicious and cooked to order when you wish and that the walking safari and the jeep safari are exciting and fun. It is the people that make the difference. The staff is friendly and attentive, ready to help and make your stay just right. Special thanks to Dipok, our jeep safari driver and especially to Loken our knowledge guide who not only made our two safari days special and filled with unique experiences but also took such good care of us during our 4 day stay. Thank you also to Bibek who welcomed us and helped us find a mechanic for our motorcycle malfunction. Highly recommend Mr B’s place for your time in Bardiya. We left our hearts.
