The Mawimbi bungalow is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. The outdoor bathroom is absolutely magical, immersed in nature. We slept peacefully every night, lulled by the sound of the waves from the beach just below. The welcome from Antonia and Hamisi was exceptional : warm, attentive, and always available. And a special mention to Warda, who prepares breakfast: she is an amazing cook, always smiling and full of good energy. We highly recommend this place and would love to return asap :)

Wonderful private beach and a beautifully peaceful location, though it is quite isolated from everything else (which can be both a good and a bad thing). The place is fairly new, so a few details are still finding their final form.

He joined us for lunch and dinner and had an answer to all of our questions regarding whale sharks, diving, beaches etc. 100% recommendation !

Warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything, they treated me like family. The fresh seafood and local dishes were some of the best meals I had in Tanzania — always cooked with love and served with a smile. 🐟🍋 What makes this place so special is its authenticity. It’s not a crowded resort, but a peaceful retreat where you can truly connect with nature, enjoy the beach, and feel the rhythm of the island. Whether you’re diving, exploring, or just relaxing in a hammock, Mafia Beach Bungalow captures the essence of barefoot luxury. I couldn’t recommend it more for anyone looking to escape the noise of the world and experience the raw beauty of Mafia Island. I will carry these memories forever. 💙🌊

Mgeni Homestay ligger 7,2 km fra Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve. Overnatningsstedet har gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. I had a wonderful stay at Mgeni Homestay, with both Ally, the owner, and Bunda, the home caretaker, going above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the house is centrally located in Kilindoni and close to the beach. I would recommend Mgeni to those who are traveling, either alone or in groups, and are looking for a budget and authentic homestay option.
