The location was charming. The hosts were incredible and helpful. They made us feel welcome and ensured our stay in the Loire valley was fabulous. The pool was so welcome as it was exceptionally hot while we were there. The breakfast had the best croissants we had while in France from a local bakery along with other local delights and homemade yogurt.

Eugene and I cannot thank Stephane and Gaultier enough for their kindness, hospitality and superb accommodation. It was like being greeted by your favourite friends after a long journey. The attention to detail in comfort and design was exceptional . A perfect marriage between French finesse and contemporary class with a generous helping of creative personality. The heated pool welcomed us on arrival with a cold glass of wine and beer. The restaurant reservation overlooking the Loire with a hot air balloon ascending was magical . We slept on a cloud of linen with a superb breakfast selection of local and homemade fayre but then discovered the car air conditioning wasn't working so Stephan introduced us to a wonderful mechanic who took all the panic out of our next 5 hour journey as the heat rose to 37 degrees. A fantastic start to our adventures in France after a longggggg time .

Både lokation og omgivelser var helt i top! De to ejere er simpelthen fantastiske. De er hjælpsomme og formår bare at sprede glæde omkring sig. Morgenmaden er top klasse og utrolig hyggelig. Vi spiste aftensmad på terrassen en enkelt aften. En utrolig hyggelig oplevelse og virkelig velsmagende menu. Det kan virkelig anbefales! Alt i alt en rigtig god oplevelse, og vi ville ønske, at vi havde booket nogle flere dage ☺️

Cédric and his family run a very charming property. All the bedrooms and commun areas are brand new, very Confortable and clean. In the bedrooms, the bed is like heaven and we find some sweet kindness, as a teapot with some Herbs harvested in the garden. The bathroom is huge with soft and big towels. The breakfast is very good, whose high point is the rose homemade yogurt. The guest can use the kitchen (complete with all you can possible imagine) to cook. Besides the house itself is very charming and comfy, they have installed a few days ago a swimming pool, which is very welcoming in the summer hot days. And finally Cedric’s family is very kind and helpful. All these make a stay in Maison Chemin a great experience for those who want to explore the Loire Valley.

Now if I do this little bit of paradise found justice in the review, you will either not believe me, or FAR more importantly I will never get to stay again because it will be fully booked! One winds through an ever narrower lane, not entirely sure of where it leads until the final corner when Domaine du Val Savage is revealed in all its natural beauty. Down a long private driveway, the first thing to observe is the wood fired hot tub on the left. Once you’ve passed this the house then reveals itself. With the swimming pool in front of it and Truffeau stone cliff, complete with caves to the right. All surrounded by forest and birdsong. The greeting from both Vincent and Caroline was very warm indeed. We were shown to our room by Caroline via the separate entrance through the woods. Travelling light is a bonus at this point ;-) The rooms are simply beautiful. Immaculately clean and very comfortable. This stay is a woodland oasis of calm. Should you not want to leave then evening meals etc are also available. We sampled three of these and all were delicious. We have visited the Loire many times now and this is head and shoulders above anywhere else we have stayed, and we’ve been very lucky previously.

Absolutely exceptional place, absolutely exceptional stay! Beautifully furnished quiet house with a wonderful garden, heated pool, outdoor seating. Mariel is a beautiful elegant lady who takes great care of her guests, preparing excellent breakfasts from local and home-grown ingredients. We really enjoyed our stay in her house! Thank you and we look forward to coming back again!
