Miyajima
During the summer, guests can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and Beer Terrace on the Seaside Deck. Aki Grand also has a public hot spring bath and sauna. Guests can reserve a private open-air hot spring bath with Itsukushima Shrine views. Activities at the hotel include a night cruising tour of the World Heritage Sites. The best view of the Itsukushima shrine and it's oceanfront Torii gate, as well the whole of Miyajima island and mountain landscape, right infront of yours room balcony! The available private onsen has the same wonderful view plus the enjoynment of soaking in the hot mineral water! The breakfast is buffet type with extensive range of choices. While dinner time is the japanese course menu. Unfortunately for both the cuisine stays the same, while for breakfast it is undestandable, but for dinner they only changed the appetizer, the other dishes stayed exactly the same, so it could be bland taste if overstaying more than 1-2 nights.

We had a wonderful stay. Super location, closed to the Tori and the aquarium. Comfortable big room, with tatami. The breakfast and dinner ere amazing! They welcomed us with a cup of macha tea, and provided us with yukata to wear. The bath are also superb, both private and public pools. The private bath has an wonderful view of the beach side
Cosy clean apartment. Helpful friendly staff. Delicious Japanese style breakfast. Relaxing onsen with inside and outside pools. Everything was perfect!
Absolutely gorgeous self contained villa. Comfortable bed, good shower, lovely outdoor bath. Well stocked self service bar. Simple check in at the ryokan down the hill - friendly service, a great dinner and a good breakfast. Just lovely. I would love to stay here for a week or more.
Loved the kimono robe that you could wear around the hotel and to breakfast.. The onsens were great especially the outdoor private one that overlooked the water. . The free shuttle service was perfect for getting you to the ferry for Miyajima.and the train station. Staff were fantastic. Rooms were very clean and a nice size. Loved having the balcony to sit out on in the evenings.
Amazing traditional Japanese style accommodation in a beautiful place. The staff set up our futon beds for us while we were out enjoying the sites. There was an indoor and outdoor onsen, I really enjoyed the outdoor one on the cold night. The staff were friendly and nice. All round amazing experience.
Room and view were excellent, shuttle service from Station was good. Certainly a grand sized hotel which looks like an 80's design, not sure when it was built. We visited in November and i guess the outside facilities, pool etc will be open and be more appealing in the summer.
The hotel is old style but charming. The views from the water side rooms are spectacular so I highly recommend booking an ocean view room. In fact you can see the famous floating torii from the room but also from the fabulous outdoor deck. The sunrise was gorgeous. I appreciated the minibus that takes you directly to the station (and ferry to Miyajima island). I also recommend the excellent evening boat cruise to see the Torii at night. A truly magnificent sight.
Dinner was exceptional, the room view amazing and breakfast outside with feet in the pool very funny. Staff very helpful.
The real Japanese experience. The use of a yukata that you can wear outside the hotel for photos. Very clean. The onsen is wonderful both indoor and outdoor.
