The best? The athmosphere of the cloister and the Isabelle who is the soul of this hotel. At first glance it was just okay, a bit hard to find which door I have to find (no reception), just okay. But from the second day I have just found the whole place magical with fairies/angels where only the main fairy/angel - Isabelle - you are allowed to see. And you feel to be honoured by letting you stay in a historical holy secret place of God… and you forget totally if something is not perfect because it became the part of the whole like the musty-fusty smell in the air in the basement, it is obligatory in an old big cloister. But your room is fresh, very simple and renovated, the bedroom is very modern (with air circulation) and the breakfast is lovely. Perfect pleace to have a meditation or so.

Paradise for skiers. Right on slopes from tracks 2/3/4, in front is also a 1 smaller and a real small lift for total beginners. Sonnenbahn also ends real close . We loved start skiing at start 9 just by walking out from the hotel. Dinner menu was super delitious and big portions. There are 2 cute cats on site which kids enjoy. Sauna world is also great enough with 3 saunas(Finnish,steam ,infra)

We visited Belvedere for the second time, we also took friends with us. Spacious room with a large shower, comfortable beds, warmth in the room. Wide selection of breakfasts, good coffee. The sauna is also great. A short distance to the ski slopes, parking without problems. You can also go skiing in Stuhleck, it's a short distance away. We recommend. :)

We arrived for a weekend. The hotel is in the small town, cafés, shops, restaurant is in walking distance. Breakfast and dinner is perfect. The staff was very nice too. I did not try the pool, but friends said it is okay too. The rooms are big enough with a small balcony.

Semmering is a rather nostalgic place. Everything reminds of "past glory". If one likes such an atmosphere, he/she is just right. Surrounded by woods and mountains multiple footpaths invite for every kind of relaxing excursions within a green nature.

Great location for a skiing holiday if you don't mind being away from shops, bars etc. Nearest restaurant is about 20mins walk up the mountain. On the other hand it's quite a nice place to be "stuck" in, has a warm relaxed vibe, the facilities are great and the staff super friendly. Pizzas are very good!

The small town is a beautiful "jewel box" (that's how we say it in Hungarian). I took a walk in the morning in the sunshine and it was beautiful. Mountains, rivers, viaduct. Quiet, safe and 20 minutes drive to the Semmering ski resort.

Mitterbach is easily accessible via public transport with the Mariazeller trainline which runs nearly every hour or so. It is a small town so beware of the opening and 'rest times' of local supermarkets and restaurants. The choice is limited. That said, there are a couple of cosy, family-run places and it's a gorgeous area with loads of scenic hiking routes in a truly stunning area. Well worth visiting!

Annaberg is a great walking/hiking and summer/winter sports...

Annaberg is a great walking/hiking and summer/winter sports destinations for young and old. If trekking Oetschergraben (like Austrian grand canyon), wear good hiking shoes, leave dog at home, be ready to walk and climb over rough and sometime slippery terrain. Try the Mountaincarts at Gemeindealpe and also the Sommerrodelbahn (toboggan) in Tuernitz.

Perfect place for a short winter vacation.

Perfect place for a short winter vacation. Vienna airport is 100 km away. Car rental is fairly inexpensive if you book in advance. Several ski rental shops are in the surroundings. If possible avoid weekends. Many people com for a ski weekend.

The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg.

The main attraction is the nearest mountain, Schneeberg. There is a hiking pass and a special train in summer. The hike is fantastic! Best fitness you can have and a great view (if the weather is not too bad).

August. I tried to book in Reichenau an der Rax, to be close to the elevator/seilbahn, but optimized my expenses, so I booked to Payerbach. If you would like to get in walk distance from Raxaplen Austrian landscape, lot of hungarian staff in restaurants (hospitality, professionialism 10/10). Rax seilbahn elevator is 37 EUR / adult. I used my car to travel between villages. Main goal was to get to the Raxalpen mesa with my children, and we fulfilled this goal. Ottohaus and Raxalm-Berggasthof were good restaurants to take rest. At the villages nearby are petting zoo, waterfalls, you can swim in the small river, do small hikings to watch cows. Alps feeling 100%

Amazing nature views and the world heritage railways right there. Coming by train requires either taxi / on-call bus, or a short hike up a quite steep road though. Easier by car oddly for a village right on the railways and famous for the railways. Past rich patronage means that costs are still inflated - it's a famous place after all.
