Great location to explore local trails and also take a National Park taxi to the Aigüestortes. The taxis stop + info center is just behind the hostel. There is a bar/restaurant at the lower floor of the hotel. We had breakfast there one morning and it was quite good. Also free parking available close (100m walk). There are local trails from one village to another. The place allows you to hike for couple days without even needing your car.

Great location, beautiful stone building with lots of flowers and a great view of the church. We loved the chairs in the terrace where you can enjoy the fresh air with the views. Breakfast was abundant, and there was variety to choose from. They offer the option to make a picnic, which is a great option for when you want to go hiking.

UNESCO Roman churches very nice

UNESCO Roman churches very nice Entrance to the Aigues Tortes National Park nearby for e.g. "Marmotte route"(beautiful though stony). For a short walk the Faro walk can be recommended. Terrace next to the main belltower in Taulll was very nice. Main restaurant in Boi is good, though quite crowded.

Barruera is an interesting old village in the valley of Boi.

Barruera is an interesting old village in the valley of Boi. It is in a good position for exploring the local area and there are well sign-posted walks straight from the village The staff at the tourist information centre are very helpful. Restaurant L'Era is a good place to eat.

We liked to stay in Boi. It is very picturesque.

We liked to stay in Boi. It is very picturesque. Location for hiking is perfect. It is very quiet for the most part of the day. We liked it better than Taull. Knowing Spanish or French would have been beneficial. We used Google translation. We ate breakfast at home because we wanted to start hiking early and nothing is open before 8am. Food is good. A tiny store has essentials. You will need to work around the fact that lots of places are open from 8am to 1pm, close from 1pm to 5 pm and open again from 5pm to 8 pm. A lot of historical places to explore near by.

Caldes is a great location in the Pyrenees with spectacular scenery and a lot of hiking, mountain bike activities, climbing etc. The gastronomy is good too. Good combination of relax and activity. There are also a spa culture of a long tradition that offers updated services and amenities. A bonus after an exhausting and physically demanding day biking, trekking or climbing!

Charming little village with great facilities including...

Charming little village with great facilities including walks, bike hire, shops, cafes and restaurants. We used the local community pool everyday and also took a cold dip in the local river. Close location to larger towns with more facilities and activities including white water rafting and canyoning. We used a company called Roc Roi who were excellent.
