Beautiful old property with delightful gardens backing onto the river. The water falls are a short walk away but the path is a bit rocky and uphill so you need to be reasonably physically fit. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff delightful.

The hotel totally exceeded our expectations. It had a very relaxing feel to it, being genuine and comfortable with no pretences of being swish and modern. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing information of suitable walks and details of the EV charging attached to the building. The restaurant, although not flash, met all our needs. Good quality and good value. Very good beer!

Another great stay at La Grange des Ecrins. Extremely relaxing, lovely hosts and wonderful food. This is a great base from which to explore the Southern Alps. We travelled with an 18 month old and there was lots for him to do at La Grange - slide/swing/tree house, and the owners were very accommodating preparing food for him.

What an incredible place to stay. Amazing hosts, great pink lady studio, very comfortable bed, hot tub and delicious breakfast, also able to borrow a raclette machine for a delicious dinner. Also patio furniture to relax on under the apple trees. Highly recommend.

It's a very nice ski area.

It's a very nice ski area. Even in a busy week there are enough lifts and apart from 1 or 2 specific lifts the lines remain short. The village itself is also very nice with many shops, restaurants and bars.

Lovely village.

Lovely village. Great location to base for rides around the Alps. Huez obviously, But well placed for Glandon and Madeleine. I was there in the off season on October but still had all the facilities I wanted.

It is the best ski resort ever.

It is the best ski resort ever. We have been traveling to different ski resorts in Europe for the last 15 years and this place amazed us with slopes variety. The skiing was wonderful, we did not search for “good slope or best root” like we usually did on previous resorts because there are so many of them that could be called the best :). Thermal SPA is an excellent bonus!

A family friendly ski resort with good beginner and intermediate skiing. Not too busy, so not long queues for lifts. Good choice of places to eat/drink on the slopes as well as a few choices for evening meals, plus a decent supermarket for self catering.

Its history was a surprise, having an enormous cathedral as testament to being an archbishopric covering about a quarter of what is now France, and delivering a pope, all around 1000 years ago. We were there height of season, and the better restaurants were almost fully booked in advance. It pays to plan !

There isn't much in the city itself, but if you like nature...

There isn't much in the city itself, but if you like nature and sport, this is the perfect spot. If you like cycling, this is the perfect spot to stay, right between Alp d'Huez and the Galibier. You get access easily to many famous cols. If you like trail, La Grave is the starting point of many hike and trail trace. Next time, I'll probably try the hike up in the mountain which looks very interesting or the Canyoning proposed during summer.

The Ski area at first seemed very limited, but after a few days of working out the best way up the mountain to avoid the crowds it grew on us. The Apres Ski was great the town really does come alive after 10pm. If eating out, make sure you book the night before as you will not get in anywhere on the night. When we did eat out the food and service was amazing. some of the best I have experienced in any ski resort over the past 30 plus yrs of going skiing.

We travelled to Le Bourg-d'Oisans in late May for a cycling trip. The weather was cool to warm, the cycling was fantastic, and the roads were mostly free of traffic. The village is attractive, with a great Saturday market and a good selection of food venues.

For a skier to spend a week skiing is superb.

For a skier to spend a week skiing is superb. However, if you have a friend with you in the group who doesn't ski, there are few opportunities for spending time. However everything is beautiful and the locals are welcoming.

This is the place to stay if you are planning on biking in...

This is the place to stay if you are planning on biking in the mountains. Great opportunity to rent and buy everything you need to your cycle adventure. The main street has a really nice atmosphere with plenty of options for casual dining. We found it easy to park in the city, while cycling the Alpe d'Huez.
