Everything was great from start to finish. The room was comfy and well thought out. And good size for Japan. The service was that of a 5 star hotel. We felt spoilt. They even offer a free (simple) breakfast. Everything was perfect. Thank you very much!

I liked the spacious rooms. It allowed 3 suitcases to be opened at once. The washroom and shower was large enough to comfortably move around and the beds allowed a good night's sleep.

Location was good, although a few minutes walking distance from major sights and attractions. But all doable by foot or bike and metro station connecting to Kyoto central station is close by (3 mins). Convenience stores around the corner (Family Mart, 7 Eleven) as well as restaurants and a superb (!!!) coffee place (named In the Coffee). Staff were friendly and helpful. Possibility to store luggage upon early arrival as well as late departure. Would be nice to have a safe/lockbox in-room, but we just took our valuables (esp. passports & wallets) with us when leaving the room. Didn't have breakfast or dinner but there were special offers, happy hour and even a DJ hosting the evenings available. Looked nice. Room is small - as expected in Japan - but everything available that's needed and options to store luggage under the bed. Would definitely recommend and come back when in Kyoto again! Arigato gozaimashita, ASAI Kyoto team.

The atmosphere, the breakfast, the location, and off course the most helpful and nicest staff , thank you so much for make our stay so special and memorable. Everything! The hotel was cozy, had night lighting, ambience, the bed was so comfy, the wifi was fast, there was nice hot shower and bathroom shampoo, soap, amenities, and the buffet breakfast was so good; There was udon, fish, nice croquettes, , duck loin, pasta, cereals, and coffee. Location was a 10; Right in the heart of Gion-shijo and near the Yasaka Shrine and the Kawamachi street where Ben's cookies (The best cookies in Japan!), all the restaurants and near the sakura mocchi store where they sell probably the most delicious mocchi in Japan. Will highly recommend!

The walk-in wardrobe was big enough to store our luggage and stuff. Toilet was separated with the bathroom, convenient. Bathroom was big, it has a big bathtub. The room was big and comfortable. Wifi was good. Lighting was sufficient at night. Two restaurants were providing breakfast, guests were welcome to choose either one. Each floor has a small room to provide free water and ice. Car-parking service was good, easy accessible to the carpark.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. The location is great because it's just a 15 minute walk from Kyoto Station. There's also a bus stop across the road so you can easily get to any part of the city quickly. This hotel has a good modern look while still being very comfortable. Breakfast was very good too.

We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto.

We definitely could have spent more time in Kyoto. We did manage to partake in the Hozugawa River ride and that was stunning and a highlight for our group. Navigating the train network was easier than expected. Will be back and allocate more time for Kyoto.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

I love Kyoto because it has a good mix of old and modern. Try to stay in Gion and Arashiyama and both have different embience. Minimum 2 nights stay each would be good. Have been to Kyoto 3 times and I will go back again.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

Beautiful town.

Beautiful town. Lots to see and do including shrines, seeing the monkeys and great shopping and food. One thing was the the buses don’t run very late so sometimes it was difficult to get home of a night.
